"Bud and the Flood"

Once upon a time, there was a man named Bud
who lived in a town that was expected to flood.
Folks were encouraged to quickly get out,
but Bud said: "There's nothing to worry about.
Everyone's saying that I should get out of town.
They say: 'If you stay behind, you are destined to drown.'
But I am not worried -- not one little bit --
because if my life is in danger, God will save it."

And just as predicted, down came the rain.
Other folks were fleeing, but Bud was there to remain.
As he watched all the rain falling down near and far,
up to his house, drove a man in his car.
The driver said: "Get in the car. I'll drive you out of this town.
For if you stay behind, you are destined to drown."
But the help of the driver, Bud wouldn't permit,
and said: "If my life is in danger, God will save it."

Soon the streets had flooded. There was no where to roam.
And Bud found himself trapped on the second floor of his home.
He was surrounded by water, like a castle and moat,
when suddenly, out of nowhere, there sailed by a boat.
A sailor said: "Get in the boat. I'll sail you out of this town.
For if you stay behind, you are destined to drown."
But the help of the sailor, Bud wouldn't permit,
and said: "If my life is in danger, God will save it."

As the rain began forcing Bud onto the roof of his hut,
he thought: "Is God going to come down here and save me or what?"
When suddenly, out of the big, stormy sky,
a large rescue helicopter came flying by.
The pilot said: "Get in the chopper. I'll fly you out of this town.
For if you stay behind, you are destined to drown."
But the help of the pilot, Bud wouldn't permit,
and said: "If my life is in danger, God will save it."

Soon the whole town flooded -- not a sight to be found.
And yes, you have guessed it: Poor Bud had drowned.
When he went up to Heaven and stood before God,
he demanded some answers, for he knew something was odd.
He spoke unto the Lord with a horrible fit,
and said: "My life was in danger and you didn't save it!"
God replied: "I tried several times to perform that small task.
I send a car, a boat, and a helicopter. What more could you ask?"

Now, the moral of this story should be perfectly clear:
The Lord works through others. So don't reject them. You hear?
