These Masks

I walked down the cold,hard street thinking...Just thinking,'Why had I been so stupid? So easy to out-smart? So foolish?' I asked myself,I couldn't find the answers to my questions,just the meaningless search of trying to find the right clues,'Your all alone now! Why is that?' The answer rang in my head,'They've past away,dead,gone...' I walked in complete silence listening to the wind whisper. I watched as a million shimmering rain-drops fell from the sky,but I didn't bother take cover,it would sheild me from the embarrasment of being seen crying. The rain made me think of the light,'The light is not shining on you any longer!' I reminded myself,the sun was coming down on the bodys of my family,although they lay motionless,they would still have a beautiful scene to rest in...Forever...I stepped up to the steps of my condo,and knocked on the brass knocker,no one was or ever would be home,it was just a habit I couldn't shake. I walked into the family room,everything was as it should've been,T.V. turned off,computer by the chair,and fireplace completely black. I made a turn for the kitchen,and took out a box of Craft macoroni and cheese,even though it was artificial,it was still good! I turned on my automatic fireplace,and it lit up. The flames were real,but not the wood. I looked into the fire and saw shapes,smiles,and cries,I felt a shiver run through my spine,as I heard a squel of laughter. I had been so lost in my hate with he world that I had forgotten the meaning of 'Happiness'! I got so mezmorized in the fire,I thought of the urge to jump into it,and feel the warmness,and see the faces of my loved ones...I reached a finger out,and caught the flame,it was as though 10 knife had just stabbed my finger at the same time...
