love and hate part twenty-one (by lily! dark night love story gone horribly wrong!)

Batman jumped through the shaft, all he could think about was Anna. Suddenly the lights turned on and he saw the Riddler and Two-face standing in the center with two tubes above two holes covered by curtains. "Where is she?" He growled. The Riddler raised an eyebrow.

"No, no Brucey! We have to play by the rules! guess what this game is about?" He paused for a secound but Batman gave him a cold stare. "Its about one of the biggest riddles of all: Can Bruce and Batman co-exist? or will it be his down fall? well, we'll soon find out!" The Riddler lifted up his staff and began talking into like a microphone. "Behind curtain number one is..." he pushed on the staff and a curtain fell of showing Anna in the glass tube now gagged as well as bound.

"Anna!" Batman shouted talking a step forward.

"Yes the beautiful Anna Kyles; she loves dancing, singing and long walks on the beach and foolishly hopes to be the love of Bruce's life. and behind curtain number two is..." he pushed another button and the other curtain fell down showing Robin in a new red and black suit similar to Batman's. "Robin, a trapiz artist turned orphan who just wants to work along side Batman and to be bear naked next Anna!" Everyone in the room turned and looked at Robin who was slowly going red. "So who is it going to be?"

"I have a riddle for you." Batman said with his hands fidling with his belt. "I see without seeing, to me night is as clear as day. What am I?"

"Oh please! Your as blind as a bat!" Said the Riddler lounging on his throne. Batman smirked and pushed a button on his belt and took out his Baterang and threw it at the lights making the room dark. Bruce ran forward but the Riddler pushed another button and Anna and Robin fell down towards huge spikes on the bottom. Batman instantly jumped down and grabbed onto Anna and Robin and shot up a cabe line to hold them up.

The backup lights flashed on and Two-face walked along the side standing near the cable. "No more 'curtain one' or 'curtain two' just plain curtains!" Yelled out Two-face while he cocked the gun.

"Two-face! aren't you forgetting your coin?" Batman yelled back while he shifted Robin and Anna to one hand. Two-face dug into his pocket and pulled out his coin. as he threw it up in the air Batman threw up two dozen of the same coin and Two-face fumbled trying to catch the right one, he fell down and landed on the spikes, making a sickning splat. Anna buried her face into Batman's chest as he pulled them up and cut them free.

"Why wont you die? So many questions... so many..." Said a now insane Riddler. Batman walked forward to handcuff him, the Riddler's eyes grew wide and he began to scream. "Get away from me bats!!!! No! Get off!" Anna watched as Batman dragged the Riddler into the Batmobile and drive off to Arkham Assulm. 'Poor Edward...'
