Tears of Blood

I run through the forest, lost. My brother Leo runs beside me, fear in his eyes. I look behind us, seeing several vampires. “Run faster!” I shouted, speeding up. Leo tripped, falling to the ground. “Leo!” I yelled in panic, stopping. “Keep going!” He screamed. “Leo-“ He interrupts. “Go, Amelia!” He yells and I turn around and start running again, tears in my eyes. I lost my mother, father, and now my brother...and to top it off, I’m lost in a forest during a vampire attack.

I have injured my ankle, and I am now limping. I reach a cave and limp inside, falling to the cold cave floor. I start sobbing, wishing my life was over.

My name is Amelia Withers, and I live in a town called Blackberry Hills. Everyone in town lives in fear, because every night, vampires come out to hunt for blood, and several people die. The vampires want revenge, because a man who once lived in this town killed the king of vampires.

We tried to tell them we wanted peace, but they didn’t listen. And now those demons have taken my brother, just like they took my parents when I was eight.

I thought some vampires were different...that maybe some still were human inside. But I was wrong. Vampires are heartless. I must never forget that...

I glance outside, seeing that the vampires were gone. I sigh in relief and close my eyes, trying to sleep.

I dream of my parents. Of Leo. They are all I can think about now.
