Crashed (A short Story By Nessa)

The rain made a almost silent noise agianst the windshield. Dusty drove slowly and smoothly across the rode, careful not to hit anything. The awkward silence krept over us filling the car with thick air making it hard to inhale. The fight only broke her heart even more. Suddenly a hint of fear made it's way to show into Dusty's eyes.
"I love you, more than anything. I'm so sorry about what I've done. Honestly I don't deserve someone like you. But please remember this, I will always protect you, I'll catch you when you fall, I'll be there when you need me."
She ignored him. Then it happened.
Crunch! Went the metal of the hood as it slashed back breaking the windshield. Glass shot at her, Dusty blocked it.
I will always protect you.
Fire from the blown engine rained around them causing a fire right outside the car, she started to slip into the fire. Dusty caught her.
I will catch you when you fall.
Glass hammered Dusty's face he fell to her lap closing his eyes never to be opened agian.

She watched as they loaded him to the stretcher, they knew, she knew, they were too late. The driver of the other car met the same fate as Dusty. Never did she feel so aweful. She watched the only person she ever loved die in her arms. She felt the pain rush through her veins like a drugs. Her sobbing only hardened.




When she went home that next night all she felt was emptiness, sorrow. She took a blade out but before she could do anything it fell to the ground. She looked up to see Dusty standing their smiling at her. He held her one last time, kissed her one last time before he faded of. Before he left she heard one simple phrase.
I'll be there when you need me.
