Breathless Prologue
So here is my new one. Tell me what you think. If you know how a swim meet really starts off (I know I got it wrong) please message me or leave it in the comments down below.
The gun went off and Anneleise jumped into the water, letting herself focus on what was ahead. She paid no attention to the visitors or her teammates cheering; she paid no attention to the other people. It didn't matter whether she won or lost, because, wherever she might be, the water felt like home to her.
In the water Anneliese was safe. The pool became sort of like a childs blanket, the chlorine a sweet perfume and her limbs smacking the pool's surface a lullaby. In the water she was alone and only had to worry about one thing: the stopwatch. She didn't have to deal with emotions or people, in the water Kevin was out of her mind. In the water there was no death, no goodbyes, no hello's just her racing against time. She liked that but eventually she had to come out.

this is a really good start and shows how she feels about swimming and the water, i feel the same when im in water, cant wait to read more :)
