The Other Boy
Dominic is in love with a girl. Only problem, she has a boyfriend, and he's Dominic's best friend's older brother. He doesn't want to make him mad, but what should he do when he loves Brittney so much?
The day had not gone too well. Something was going to happen, and I had no idea what it was.
"Hey," I called out to Brittney.
"Hey Dom-Dom!" she called back.
"Hey, do you want to come over?" I asked tersley.
"I kind of have plans Dom-Dom," she tells me.
"Oh, but Bite, you can't leave me. I thought we were together," I say.
"We are, but you got to realize I'm not going to spend all my time with you Dom-Dom," she says.
"Ok, Bite," I murmur, going back to my locker.
I gather my stuff out of my locker, and I realize that I had forgotten to give Brittney her present I had gotten her for absolutely no reason.
I shut my locker, with the charm bracelet in my hand, and run around the corner. I see Brittney talking to Lucas, my best friend.
"Hey Bite!" I call out to Brittney.
"Yeah?" She asked.
"I've got a present for you," I say casually.
"Oh, well, what is it?" she asks casually.
I give her the charm bracelet, and she gasps. "I can't take this Dom-Dom, I just can't. I'd feel so guilty taking it," she said.
"No, no, Bite, I want you to have it," I said, trying to get her to take it.
"No, no Dom-Dom, you don't understand. If I take this, it means you won't be able to get that car you've been going on about. I can't take it, please understand Dom-Dom," Brittney tells me. I should've known something was up at that point, but I didn't.
"Okay, Bite. If you really don't want it, I won't make you take it," I say reassuringly.
"Thanks Dom-Dom!" Brittney cried. She ran to me, and gave me a peck on the cheek.
Then I went back to my locker, and grabbed my bookbag. Then I went outside to wait for my bus. Thank goodness I wasn't late, and I was able to get a good seat, towards the back.
When I got home, the first thing I did was check my E-Mail, and I sent one out to Brittney. It said...

HOW ARE YOU? IS YOUR DAY GOING GOOD? I STILL WISHED YOU WOULD'VE TAKEN THE CHARM BRACELET, BUT OBVIOUSLY YOU DIDN'T WANT IT. THAT'S OKAY, THOUGH. HEY CAN YOU WAIT TILL NEXT WEEK WEDNESDAY? WE'LL BE DATING FOR FOUR MONTHS THEN. I KNOW I CAN'T WAIT.

Just after sending it, my cell phone went off. I looked down at the text, and read it. It was from Brittney. It said...
HEY DOM-DOM. CAN I COME OVER? I GOT TO TELL YOU SOMETHING.
I replied right away saying she could come over, and then she texted me back, and said that she'd be here in about 10 minutes. I waited patiently as she drove her car to my house in the country, way outside the city limits. She was here exactly ten minutes after she had texted me.
"Hey, Dominic," she said as she walked in the door. I should've known something was wrong then because she never used my name unless she had bad news, and always bad news for me. But I wasn't paying attention.
"Hey, Bite, what did you want to come over for?" I asked.
"I have to say, I don't think this is going to work," Brittney told me.
"What?" I was confused. Why wouldn't our relationship work?
"I just don't think we'll be able to survive the long distance," she said. Now I was really confused. Sure she lived in town, and I lived in the middle of nowhere, but that wasn't exactly long distance, was it?
She saw my blank face, and took a deep breath, and said, "I'm moving. My whole family is Dominic. We're moving out of state. You should know that it was probably going to happen sooner or later, my parents are in the army after all," Brittney say.
"Oh, Bite, I'm going to miss you," I exclaimed.
"I'm going to miss you too Dominic," she said.
"When are you moving?" I asked.
"We have to be out of the house by this weekend," she told me.
"And you just found out?" I asked incredulously.
"Yeah," she said. And with that, she gave me one last hug, one last kiss, and then she walked out of my house. Now I know guys aren't supposed to cry, but I did anyway. I was just so sad, my girlfriend was moving out of state. Then I realized something, I didn't even know what state she was moving to.
