My Own Man (HP Second Generation; Scorpius/Lily)
I wanted to write a Second Generation HP story. So to make sure no one is totally confused, I changed a couple of majour things. Like, Hugo and James are the same age. Rose and Albus are a year older than Scorpius and Lily. Lily is the same age as Scorpius. Also, Sirius isn't dead. He's alive :)
Enjoy XD
Chapter 1
Chapter One
Scorpius pulled on his favorite pair of jeans and a plain black shirt and looked at himself in the mirror. He combed his sleek blond hair and admired the fact he looked just like his father. Scorpius turned fourteen today, and he was excited, but not because of his birthday. It was the day of the Harry Potter carnival. This was held every year for witches and wizards to gather and celebrate Harry Potter's victory over Voldemort. Astoria, Scorpius's mother, always insisted on going. Scorpius's father, Draco, resented it, but he knew better than to argue and he went every year too.
Scorpius made his way downstairs quietly, trying not to disturb the quiet peace of the manor, when all of a sudden a house elf appeared in front of him. "What do you want?" Scorpius asked Blinky, their house elf.
"Lady Malfoy wants you down to the dining room immediately. Breakfast is ready." Blinky nervously said.
Scorpius nodded and said, "Got it." With that, the house elf apperated away and Scorpius began a bit of a jog down to the dining room. He walked in to just be blasted by the sweet smell of pancakes, eggs, and bacon. His father was already sitting at the table, drinking tea while reading the Daily Prophet.
"Good Morning my darling. Happy Birthday." Astoria said with a grin as she put down Scorpius's plate of food across from her husband. Scorpius smiled and said, "Thanks mum."
"Today is the carnival." Scorpius said with a grin, piping up. Astoria finished up making her breakfast and sat down next to her husband and then said, "Yes it is. And isn't it nice that it happens to fall on your birthday? We'll be leaving to go there soon."
Scorpius nodded and smiled brightly. Draco just put down his newspaper and finished his tea, then left the room with a stern look on his face. Scorpius and Astoria watched him walk out then Scorpius stabbed his his pancakes with his fork and said, "What's father's problem?"
Astoria sighed and looked at her son, then said, "You know how your father feels about Harry Potter. They aren't really enemies anymore, but they still don't exactly like each other."
Scorpius nodded and said, "I understand. Why doesn't he just stay home when we go to the festival then? That way he doesn't have to see Mr. Potter at all."
Astoria shook her head and said, "If we are going, we are going as a family. Whether your father likes it or not. There is no need for you to worry about your father. He's just childish sometimes."
Scorpius nodded again and finished up his food quickly, because he wanted to go to the carnival already. He hated to wait.
