Later on that night Shawn comes home.
Syndey - (meeting him at the door) So how did the meeting go with my father.
Shawn - It went okay.
Syndey - Oh....I see....well, how about I fix us some sanwhiches and you can tell me all about it.
Shawn - Actually I have a better idea. Get dress we are going out.
Sydney - (excited) Really?
Shawn - Yea, so get out of those pajama's put on something nice....we only have 30 minutes.
*****1 hour *****
Shawn and Sydney pull up in front of yours and John's house.
Sydney - (realizing this) What are we doing here? I thought we are going to dinner.
Shawn - (unbuckling his seat belt) We are....we are having dinner at your parents.
Sydney - (squinting her eyes at him) Shawn, what is going on what are you up too.
Shawn - I'm not up to anything. I just thought since you said the other day you had a nice chat with your mom and things went fairly well with your dad -- we your dad and I planned a nice "family" dinner together.
Sydney - I don't like this and I don't trust him.
Shawn - (sighing) Sydney you can't be mad at each other forever.
Sydney - Who's side are you on?
Shawn - (Reaching over and taking her hand into his) Yours always (then kisses it.)
Syndey - Then let's leave I am not going in there.
Shawn - Sydney please...do this for me.
Sydney - No...I am sorry Shawn...but no.
Just then the front door opens and John appears in the doorway looking out at the car.
Shawn - Well, he see us now we have to go in.
He gets out goes to the passenger side opens the doorand helps Sydney out of the car. They walk hand and hand up to the front door.
**** Dinner*****
Everyone was quiet while eating.
You - (trying to break the silence) So Sydney do you have big plans this summer?
Sydney - No, just hanging out at the beach and catching some sun nothing exciting like Mimi. (sighing) I wished I was getting on that plane to go to Paris with her tomorrow.
You and John look at each other and smile.
John - What if we said that we could make that wish happen?
Sydney - (looking up) Yea, right....everything has to be paid in advance and there is no way I could get a plane ticket on this short of notice.
You get up walked into the other room and come back holding an envelope. You hand it over to Sydney.
You - Maybe this will change your mind.
Sydney opens the envelope and there is 1 round trip ticket to Paris with a credit card with a limit of 10 thousand dollars stuck inside.
Sydney - (wide eyed) Wh--what is this?
You - Your ticket and traveling money to Paris silly.
Sydney - How?
John - (smiling) I am sure you know that Kelly backed out of going since her mom just had the new baby. So your mom called talked with her mom and she was glad to give us the tickets. She said she would be glad to see someone use them. So your mom went and put money on a credit card for the spending money.
Sydney - (looking over at Shawn -- then looking back at John) So this your clever way of keeping me away from Shawn. I knew I shouldn't have gotten out of the car....come on Shawn let's go...
Shawn - Sydney, I think that you should go....
Sydney - What??? You mean to tell me that you agree with them????? That you were in on this little plot???? I'm out of here.....(she gets up throws her napkin down on her plate and storms out.)
You - (trying to go after her) Sydney.....wait ....(calling after her)
Shawn - Ms. Cena...if you don't mind please let me go talk to her.
You - (nodding your head) Alright.
Shawn went outside and they went home....that night at the house they talked about it. And after a lot of talking Shawn talked Sydney into going to Paris.
**** Leaving for the Airport****
Then next morning Sydney and Mimi's friends gather over to yours and John's house to say good bye to them. The airport shuttle bus pulls into the drive way.
We see Mimi saying good bye to her boyfriend Chad first.
Mimi - I'll write you everyday and I'll call you every Sunday morning or Sunday night. Depending on if the rates change.
Chad - Call me anytime...I'll be here.
Mimi - (smiling) okay.
He leans down and kisses her good bye
Chad - Have a safe trip
Mimi - Okay...bye (he walks off and she climbs into the bus)
Gavin and Sydney
Gavin - You do live a charmed life...you know that right?
Sydney - (looking over at you and John) Take care of them for me -- will you?
Gavin - Of course...and you take care of yourself.
They hug good - bye
Sydney - (hugging him) Good - bye Gavin
Gavin - You go and have fun okay?
She then walks over to Shawn who is waiting by the bus door to say good - bye
Sydney - I can't believe this is really happening.
Shawn - Me either...now I got to start doing my own laundry again.
Sydney - (giggling at his little joke) I'll miss you too Shawn.
Shawn - Go on....just huh....don't fall in love while you are over there okay?
Sydney - That goes for you too.
They kiss good - bye and she gets into the bus.
As she settles in behind Mimi they close the bus door.
Mimi - Oh God!
Sydney - What's wrong? Are you sad?
Mimi - (looking over her shoulder back at Sydney) No, scared to death. I hate flying.
As they pull away...everyone waves.
Tom and Kelly
Tom - (standing next to her) Just think Kel you could have been on that bus.
Kelly - Yep
Tom - I bet Jake (a guy Kelly was just seeing) is glad you are staying in town.
Kelly - I don't know we might get together sometime.
Just then Shawn steps up beside her.
Shawn - Hello Kelly
Kelly - Hey...I might even get togehter with you sometime.
Shawn - Really I just might hold you to that.
As the bus makes the corner everyone turns to go their different ways....but Shawn and Kelly walk way to talking together and what they don't know is Sydney can still see and watches them walking together with a worried look on her face.
