Forever Is Over

Contemplating this decision is all that has been on my mind for the past three years. My whole life has changed, and this is what it has come to. The rush of cars speeding past comforted me. What I wanted was just seconds away. That is... If I didn’t chicken out, like last time. The light of the headlights burn in my eyes. But I like the feeling; I was finally going to fix everything.
For a second, my mind wandered and I thought about Anya. What would she do without me? But I’m sure she’ll find a way to live without me. Nobody ever needs me. I ruined everything. It’s my fault my family got torn apart. Why should I get to live, after what happened? Those are the things that haunt me daily. In a few minutes, it should all go away.
My long hair twisted in the breeze as I waited for the right time. A car passed. Then another. There was a red SUV coming in the distance; this would be the one. I took a deep breath as a prepared to leap into it’s path. But just as I was about to, I heard a boys voice yell, “no!”.
That one word changed everything.
