What Am I?

I am seen all over the world,
But I cannot speak
I am silent and restless.
Even at a mountains peak
I come in many forms,
From birds, to mountains, to kings
Sometimes unrecognizable
I am many things
I am a follower not a leader
That may be kind of surprising
I never travel alone
I need something to guide me.
I am usually dark
But I can be light
Alive by day
But dead by night
But I cannot speak
