Chapter 1
Road Trippin'
Sean P.O.V
"Sean can you please pull over!" I heard Tim whine from the back seat.
"I swear Tim if your bladder was any smaller we wouldn't have made it out of Darwin!" I retorted causing Ady to laugh.
I nonchalontly shot a glance her way.
God I loved that laugh. I loved how she just threw back her head and didn't give an absolute damn in the world when she found something funny. Ady was a sucker for a good joke- something I strained to supply her with any chance I got.
"Sean- road!"
I turned back to the road just in time to not miss our turn off, and sheepishly shrunk lower in my seat, hiding my face as recognition of my huge crush on Ady flashed in my best friend Tim's eyes.
Tim was one lucky guy. He got good grades, was good at pretty much every sport he tried out for, and had one of the hottest girls in the school: Lucy. In my eyes she didn't come close to comparing with Ady, though. It only complicated things further that we were all best friends.
I was just glad to be away from home and on the road with my three best friends. It was our last break from school before graduation, and we were getting away from it all to drive across the country. We were getting away from school, parents...life.
I glanced up through the windscreen at the steadliy darkening sky. It might have just been me but this seemed dangerously close to the beginning of my favourite horror movie.
I once again lost focus as I stared up at the swirling, purple sky, and angry formating storm clouds. Getting lost in the indecipherable pictures, forever shifting throughout the sky.
"Dude, do you want me to drive?"
I sighed and ran a hand through my hair, shooting back, "Didn't you have to pee?!"
"Not anymore."
We all shot Tim disgusted looks.
"Awww dude no! It passed okay! The feeling passed!"
I rolled my eyes. " Suuuuure it did, Tim." I mumbled, and Tim punched me in the shoulder.
Lucy leaned forward, "No seriously can we stop? I actually have to pee."
"Yeah me too." Ady threw in.
"Do you two really have to pee or do just want an excuse to fix your hair?' I question, raising my eyebrows.
"Why? Is something wrong with my hair?" Lucy exclaimed, grabbing her auburn locks in worried fingers.
Tim rolled his eyes and leaned back to look at her sceptically. "Yeah, you should probably get that checked out, babe." He teased, and she hit his shoulder, grinning.

Ady P.O.V
"Oh, come on," Lucy told me, touselling her hair in the mirror next to mine. "Everyone knows that Sean has a thing for you."
"What? He does not!" I defended, and Lucy said gently without looking at me, "Really? That's not what I heard..."
My head shot up. "Why? What did he say about me?!"
Lucy grinned triumphantly. "Oh, you're totally right, Ady. You definitely don't have feelings for Sean."
I bowed my head sheepishly, pretending to be studying my tube of lipgloss. She was right, and she knew it. I did have feelings for Sean, strong ones. I just didn't know how to bring it up with him. I wanted to sound aloof and seductive, being a woman, was that too much to ask for? But all I'd come up with so far with was 'Hey Sean, by the way I've been desperately in love with you for the past five years. How do you feel about that?' In my mind he always swept me off my feet and we rode off into the sunset together, but in reality Sean was still the shy, nerdy kid he'd always been.
Still, was a little chivalry too hard to ask for?
"Jeez, how long does it take to apply lip gloss?" I heard Tim shout from outside the urinal block, and purposely took my time packing up my makeup.
Sean P.O.V
"We need to double up in the rooms." Tim said, and I gave him a questionable look. "Why?" "To save money."
"That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard." I told him, frowning, and he shrugged. "No, it's quite smart, actually. You'll go with Ady and I'll go with Lucy."
"I...what...I don't even...how in the hell does that make any sense whatsoever Tim?!" He shot me a dangerous look, and I suddenly got it. "What are you- oh, oh god! Ugh, ew, fine fine fine! As long as I'm not in the room I'll do anything!" I seriously didn't need that image, especially before I had to sleep in a strange hotel room with the girl I'd been in love with for the past five years.
Ady and I sat awkwardly on opposite beds pretending to be interested in studying the floor intently.
"So, what do you want to do?" She said in a quiet voice. I felt the blood rush to my cheeks and hurriedly hid my face so she couldn't tell what conclusion I had instantly jumped to. Being around Tim too much had givin me a dirty mind.
"We could talk I guess, there doesn't seem to be much else in here to do." I said and saw her go rigid.
"Did I miss something?"
"No we can...talk." It was awkward again as we sat in silence and I finally asked her if she was feeling okay. She nodded quickly and I suggested she come sit next to me.
Hesitantly she came over and sat next to me, and I poked her in the arm, grinning. "What?" She giggled and poked me back. Taking this as a challenge, I poked her in the stomach, which ultimately ended in an all out poking and tickling war, including a cushion to my head and us both toppled over on the back of the couch, laughing intensely.
When we both stopped laughing it grew awkward, as Ady was right in my face, sprawled out across my lap.
Without moving, her breath hit my face softly in a sort of shudder, showering me with the scent of mint. Gazing into her eyes, I slowly leaned forward and pressed my lips to hers but instantly pulled away, an apology rising in my throat.
Before I had time to say anything, she was closing the gap between us again, and her lips crushed mine, her hands instantly tangling in my hair.
It was what I had been dreaming of for years and more but still shocked me to the way I responded. Ady pulled away and pressed her forhead to mine, sighing my name.
"I should have told you...you should have...all this time..."
"I know." She cut me off to press a gentle kiss to my cheek. "I love you." She whispered, settling back on my chest and sighing while I played with her hair.
"I love you too." I said, realising that for once everything was going perfectly now that I had her.
But I couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong.
"Sean can you please pull over!" I heard Tim whine from the back seat.
