Monsters at Midnight

Me and my friends walked down the neighborhood streets. We were all 15, but we went trick or treating every year. I was a witch, Taryn was an angel, and Demi was a pirate.
As we neared our next house, we saw a girl about our age walking down the sidewalk. I soon recognized her as Juliet, a girl who went to our school. She had her back to me, and was wearing a red cape. "Hey!" I called. We weren't really friends, but I still thought I'd say hello. She continued to walk without responding, so I called again. She still ignored me. I finally just walked up to her and turned her around to face me. As soon as I did the cape fell to the ground, revealing no one in it's place.
Taryn and Demi ran over and stared at the empty cape.
"What the-"
I heard a horrifying hiss, and we all turned turned around to see Juliet, but a unbelievable version. Her skin was sickly and pale, and her eyes were as red as her cape. She hissed at me with terrible fangs. I screamed, and dragged Taryn and Demi with me as I ran away. I could sense her following us, but prayed we would lose her.
"Carly, what the heck is going on?" Taryn screamed.
"How should I know?"
We suddenly skidded to a halt. I dared to turn around, and Juliet was gone. I sighed deeply, but immediately was paralyzed by fear as a deep, rumbling growl came from behind us. I gulped, wishing we had never gone trick or treating, and turned around.
