Chapter 1
PROLOG
Red Riding Hood skipped through the woods, her red cloak swaying behind her.She had on a plain, knee length red dress underneath it and a small, brown basket which hung on her arm.The basket was full of candies and cakes and a small thermostat with hot chocolate.Red hummed as she skipped along the path to Grandma's house, sometimes stopping to look at a flower or a pretty rock. She had left early that morning for Grandma's house and had been walking on the path for who knows how long. The sun was up high in the sky, stating that it was almost afternoon.Though Red had to hurry to Grandma's and back before dark, she had to be careful to not damage the treats. The trees where thick, making it impossible for Red to know if she was close to the small cottage and no one passed her.Even so, Red was not bored nor alone, for the animals of the forest entertained her with the sounds and the ways they played.
Suddenly, something shoot out from the woods in front of her.Red stopped, curiosity getting the best of her.In front of her sat a black wolf, whose name was unknown to Red.Red, being a very trustful person, immediately calmed down and smiled at the wolf.
"Hello Wolf." Red said, her voice high pitched.
"Hello, Little Red.Where are you going this fine afternoon?" Wolf replied, his yellow eyes never moving away from her.
"To my Grandma's house."
Wolf looked at the basket "What do you have there, dear Red."
"Candies and cakes and hot chocolate for Grandma. She is sick and mother said I had to bring her this."
How about a race, Little Red." the Wolf said, his eyes sparkling "I bet I can beat you to your Grandma's home.Just tell me where it is."
Red, who never passed the chance to beat someone at something, agreed, a grin on her childish face.
"Grandma lives in the middle of the forest." Red told the Wolf, ignoring the fake that he was drooling.
"Then our race begins..now!" and with that Wolf took off into the woods.
Red started to run but quickly slowed down when she remembered the basket.Red quickly forgot about the race with Wolf and went back to taking her time getting to Grandma's.
Staring at the small cottage, Wolf grinned to himself, reviewing the plan in his mind.He would disguise himself as Grandma and eat both her and Little Red.It was perfect!Wolf padded up to the door.
"Oh Grandma, please let me in!" Wolf said in a high pitched voice "It is I, Little Red!I have brought you some candies and cake and even hot chocolate for you to get better!"
"Oh, Red, dear, come in!The door is unlatched." a weak sounding voice yelled which was followed by a cough.
The wolf snickered lightly and pushed the door open, closing it once he padded in.He kept to the shadows, making sure the old fool could not see him.
"I am in my room, dear!" the old women yelled.
Wolf lunged into the old women's room, and with quick paws, tied her up, stuffing a rag in her mouth and put her in the closet. He then put on her clothes and laid in the bed, waiting for his other meal to arrive.
Seeing the cottage, Red quickly went to the door and knocked, happy to be able to rest now.
"Grandma!It's Red!" she yelled, smiling.
"Oh come in dear!" a hoarse voice said.
Red thought nothing of it seeing as how Grandma was sick and walked into the cottage, closing the door behind her.She walked into Grandma's room where she laid in bed.
"Why, Grandma! What big hands you have!" Red gasped, running over to the side of her bed.
"The better to hug you with, dear!" Grandma replied.
"And what big eyes you have!"
"The better to see you with!" Grandma laughed.
"And Grandma!" Red gasped "What big teeth you have!"
"THE BETTER TO EAT YOU WITH!" she yelled.
Realizing that it was Wolf, Red screamed, backing away.Suddenly, Grandma, the real one, busted out of the closet and stared at Wolf.Red screamed and ran behind Grandma, peeking around her.The wolf, who had taken off the clothes, howled and glared at them.
"Fools!Time to eat!" Wolf yelled.
He then lunged towards Red, but Grandma moved in the way.Wolf started to rip off skin from Grandma, splattering blood on Red, who stood there, frozen in fear.Grandma screamed as she was being eaten alive, but soon stopped.Suddenly, a man the an ax busted in and saw what was happening. He threw the ax at Wolf but it only stuck in his leg.Wolf howled in agony and limped away, disappearing in the woods.Red stood, there staring at Grandma who was long dead. She started screaming loudly, trying to get the blood off of her.
