Immortal War

It was a dark, moonless night, somewhere around midnight. The trees rustled ever so softly in the wind. The sound of music, laughter, and voices made me turn my head to the left. The wind picked up and blew my hair back. Humans by the smell of it, typical, humans would party at past midnight.
I slowly crept toward the smell and finally came to a small broken down shack. Lanterns were lit and shadows danced to the beat of the music. (Wow, lanterns, I mean come on we live in the twenty-first century.) And they at least could have made it harder by having the party in town. Well, I’m not going to complain, it’s an easy meal.
I opened my mouth and softly sang, “Come little humans. Come follow my voice into the woods.” I stopped and looked. No one was coming.
Why, you guessed it, because of the loud music. I guess this will be harder after all. Time for some hunting, manual hunting.
