Chapter 1

Fancy a Meeting?

To tell you my story of how I became who I am, Alexandria Hart, I would have to tell you how I was discovered . . and that was on Febuary 17th, 2011. It was a stormy day in the little town of San Diego, Yes my friends that was sarcasm you best get used to it cause I am world renowned for my Sarcatic personality, and I was sitting in my room staring out the windows in our tenth floor apartment. The AC was blasting as always yet I was still dressed as if it was the hottest month of the year, black shorts, fishnets black slip-on imitation converse and a Panic At The Disco Band-T, my hair was laying flat that day, hanging in my eyes at wierd angles but thats beside the point.

My mom bardged into my room as she always did, and looked at me with her increasingly irritating face that said she was about to ask me to do something she know I would already hate to do. "Hey sweetheart," I cringed in disgust at the term, "Do you think you could run across the street and get me a redbull and some starburst, thanks hun!" Before I could answer her she handed me a ten and walked out of the room, I sat and stared at the money in my hand and hoisted myself up and grabbed my nano ipod touch and phone from their seperate chargers, checked my phone before stuffing it in my bra to keep it from getting wet, picked a song on my ipod : Evanesence 'Bring Me To Life' and headed out the door with a wave to my mother.

I stepped out of the elevator door a few minutes later and stared around the stark white lobby, painfully noting the lack of anything dark other than the gray grout in the tile. There was a man around 20 or so sitting on the white leather couches waiting for the security guard to come back from their smoke breake, he looked me up and down with a slight hunger in his eyes that faded when he reached my pitch black eyes, I gave him a nod as I walked briskly by to the doors, already humming along to the song in my ears: Evanesence 'Going Under'. The second i got out the doors I bursted into song, there was something in me that couldnt resist the urge music brought to my soul, its like I wasnt happy until my voice was perfectly matching the singers and my body was acting out the song on its own accord, i tucked the ipod into my bra and started out into the rain singing louder and louder until I got to the middle of the street and streatched out my arms, putting my whole heart into the chorus, people stared but the one I noticed was the man who got up and had opened the door to hear me, "I . . . died again IM GOING UNDER! Drowning you . . . Im falling forever, ive got to break through, so go on and scream at me!" Before I realized it I had danced myself across the street and into the store, where the rain water dripped from my hair. The cashier stared at me like I was insane, I guess he had seen my 'performance', I hurridly grabbed and paid for the items, pocketing the remainder and hurried back into the rain. My moment of song was over and i calmly walked into the lobby where i was rudely intercepted by the guy.

He stared at me with a sparkle in his eye and a charming smile on his face, Oh this was gonna be good . . . "Hey . . your the girl that was singing in the rain." He pointed at me like he was unsure, . . like the drenched clothes i was wearing wasnt hint enough. "Yeah that would be me . . ." I tried to get around him, but he side stepped in front of me. "Sorry to bother you, but your voice is absolutely amazing, Im James Hurst, and I came over here to meet up with this guy who plays the bass . . but Im glad I ran into you, I was looking for a person like you." another smile . . . "Well sorry to dissapoint but I have no intention of joining your . . whatever it is." I moved around him quicker this time and almost got away, until he grabbed my arm and I swear it was like electricity ran from his fingertips to my skin, our eyes met and he immediately let go of my arm, yet his eyes . . bright blue, stayed on mine. "Uh . . . Heres my number you know . . in case you change your mind." He grabbed a stray Alberstons recepit and scribbled a few numbers on it, handing it to me, and turning around unmistakeably staring at his hand and skaing his head. I watched him, rooted to the spot until he sat down and put his head in his hands. Thats when I was finally able to shake my self out of my mind and got on the elevator that just came in, in it was the guy who played bass, I only know this cause he had his Guitar with him, he saw me winked at me and stepped out. I stared after him in astonishment that a guy would have the balls to do that . . . no matter I grabbed my cell phone, punched in the number still in my hands and sent James Hurst a quick text, 'When is the first meeting . . . I'll be there. ~ Alexandria Hart - The girl singing in the rain'.

I took a deep breathe to collect myself and walked into my house, handed my mom her food and retreated to my room I stripped out of my soaked clothes and changed into my pajamas, though it was only 4 or so, crawled into my bed and laid against the wall, thinking long and hard about one certain thing . . . James Hurst and my upcoming shot at being someone.
