Welcome to the apocalypse, please take your ticket and watch the fun begin! Here in the great land of Boulder, we have a plenty of good activities to participate, such as traveling the Vast, a hot, dry, endless desert. We also have a nice selection of locals such as hostile bandits and blood-thirsty cannibals. Please stay in your seats and watch our good friend Jake Smith survive a mixture of disease, radiation, and a gang of assassins.
Chapter 1
The Chase
Jake ran. He ran faster than he even thought he could. Bright, hot pain ran down his left leg in crimson dribbles. His rapid breathing filled the hot night air of the Vast. A sharp crack came from his left flank. Sand rose from the spot where the sniper's bullet landed. ahead of him, a house stood on the side of the road. Suprisingly, the pre-war house was not damaged. It stood like a beacon, considering it was the tallest thing around for miles. The sharp, quick beat of a machine gun went off behind him, white sand went up around him in thick clouds. Only fate kept him from being hit. The house came closer and closer. He could see the broken windows and cracked walls now, but it was intact. It looked uninhabited, but either way, it would protect him from the bullets of his assailents. The house was only a dozen yards away. The cracking of the guns came closer. He charged at the door. He put all the momentum he could into his shoulder, using it to break the door open. He rolled onto his knees. He looked around franticly, trying to find something that could be used as a weapon. A pump-action shotgun rested on an old wood desk. Jake grabbed it. He gave it an experimental pump, and found it fully loaded. Bullets flew through the the door frame. The assassins were close enough that Jake could here their footsteps. He must make a final stand against the Black Blood Assassins. It was quiet for almost a minute. Then all he.ll broke loose.
