My Doggy Finnegan
This is about my doggy Finnegan. He is sooo cute so I wanted to write about him.
Finnegan is an old dog. He is 14 years old. That is 98 years old in dog years. Most humans don't live until they are 98 but my dog is and he is still happy and mostly healthy.
He has hip and joint problems. He falls down a lot but he gets right back up and keeps on smiling.
He doesn't like to climb the stairs because it hurts his hips. Sometimes we have to carry him up the stairs or push on his butt.
He is a border collie. He doesn't herd sheep because he has us children to herd.
He still thinks he is a puppy. He walks around like he is two years old and then hurts himself because he can't do what he used to.
He is nearly blind. He has cataracs in his eyes. They are all cloudy. There isn't much we can do about it.
He is nearly deaf. He can't hear me when I call him. I have to clap really loud until he hears the sound and knows where it is coming from.
I bet the only sense he has left is his smell. He can still smell things, taste things, and feel things though.
He can be a crabby old man sometimes. He nips at me when I grab him by the collar. I can't blame him though.
He loves to ride in the car. Although he gets nervous in the car I think he is the only one who enjoys rides in the car.
I love him. Even with all his problems, I still love my doggy.
He is sitting on the floor napping in front of me glancing over once in a while to see what I am doing. Little does he know I am writing about him.
