I wasn't very sure my birthday would be great. But I woke up today on my birthday and I had this feeling that it would be the luckiest day of my life. I just turned 11 years old. Not any special age, atleast not yet. I was walking home from the library today and I stopped at my friends house she gave me a big pink box wrapped with a red bow. It had holes in the bottom to. I couldn't amagine what in the world it could be. I walked torwards the box and slowly unwrapped it. I swear it took 10 hours for me to open that gift. Inside was a small baby platypus. I held her so tight. He soft brown fur was perfectly brushed down. Well, I got home that day. I had myt friend with me she was going to sleep over at my house. It was that moment when we were sitting in my room talking about the Harry Potter book series when I realized, how did my friend get me a platypus? They weren't supposed to be pets and the goverment wasn't supposed to let us have it. I asked Ginny (my friend) where she got the platypus. She said her dad got it. I told her about the government and how we weren't supposed to have animals that weren't house pets as house pets. We both agreed that we needed to hide the platypus and find out what her father was hiding from us.
