Reconnection (A Nick Jonas Love Story)

~FLASH BACK~
"I bet I can swing higher then you!" Nick yelled moving his legs harder.
"NUH UH! Just because you're a boy doesn't mean you're better!" You yell back offensively
"Boys are stronger then girls!"
"Wana bet?!?! I bet you a dollar I can swing higher then you before we leave!"
"You're on! Get ready to give me a dollar!"
You and Nick begin to forcefully move your legs back and forth progressively getting higher and higher. After 5 minutes of swinging Mrs. Jonas walks over
"Come on guys. I have to get Jocelyn (you) home before her supper time."
You look behind you in mid swing and stick your toungue out at Nick
"HA! I win!"
"I let you win! It's respectiful!"
You look confused, "What's respectiful mean?"
Nick shruggs, "I don't know. My daddy uses it all the time. I asked him why he holds the door for mommy and he said 'because it's respectiful'. So me letting you win is respectiful!"
You look up at Mrs. Jonas, "What does respectiful mean?"
Mrs. Jonas laughs, "Respectful, you mean? It means he was using his manners towards a girl, like yourself."
You turn to Nick and smile, "I guess since you were being respectiful you don't have to give me a dollar. But next time don't let me win! I wana win fairly!"
Nick smiles and nods. He slowly reaches for your hand and for the rest of the walk home your hands are connected. Suddenly you hear a camera snap, stop, and turn around to see that Mrs. Jonas had taken a picture of you and Nick. You shug your shoulders and continue walking. When you reach your house Nick releases you hand, hugs you, then walks off with his mother. You knock on your door and your mom lets you in. After dinner, your bath, and bedtime story, you close your eyes and go to sleep waiting to have more fun with Nick tomorrow.

The next morning Mrs. Jonas picks you up for church. Church is your favorite part about Sundays. As you walk up to the car Joe opens the door to let you in
"Hey Jocelyn! I like your dress. Blue is my favorite color!" Joe says smiling
"No! It's MY favorite color!" Nick snaps back
"I'm older so it was MY favorite color 1st!" Joe say sticking his toungue out
"Boys... It can be both of yalls favorite colors. Now get in, we can't be late!" Mr. Jonas rushed. Once yall get to church Nick grabs your hand again to walk you in.
"Nick and Jocelyn sittin' in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G!" Joe teased laughing at Nick
"Joe... Grow up!" Kevin stepped up, rolling his eyes
Nick drops your hand and blushes. You go to grab it back but he refuses.
After church Mrs. Jonas takes Joe, Kevin, and Mr. Jonas home then takes Nick to get his haircut. She was going to take you home, but Nick insisted you come along. While Nick was getting his hair cut you and him began singing. People started gathering around clapping along. Suddenly an older lady walked up to Mrs. Jonas
"Your son is a magnificant singer! I reccomend getting him into broadway!" She handed Mrs. Jonas a few brocheurs, "Here are a few musicals looking for his age and talent. Just give them a call and your son will become a star in no time!" she then left.
After the haircut Mrs. Jonas called you mom to let her know she was going to take you back to her house so you and Nick could play. When you got to the Joas househld Mr. Jonas had already made some maccoroni and cheese for lunch. After lunch you and Nick went upstairs to play.
"Did you like my singing too?" Nick asked
"Of course I did, Nick! I always lke your singing!" You say smiling
"But you sound better then me... That lady should have said something about your singing too!" Nick said standing up for you
"It's ok... Because when you become famous you'll get famous friends..." You say sadly
Nick shakes his head coninuously, "NO! We'll ALWAYS be best friends! No matter WHAT!"
You look up at him, "Promise?"
Nick holds out his pinky and you connect your pinky with his, "PINKY promise!"
Yall shake but before you let go you stop, "You kiss your end and ill kiss my end. That way i KNOW you'll keep your promise!"
You both do so then release your pinkies.
"But, Nick... I won't be famous... You won't want to be my friend cause I won't be famous..."
Again Nick shakes his head, "I shook on it, Jocelyn! We'll ALWAYS be best friends!"
You sigh, "I hope so"
For the next 2 hours you and Nick play house. He's the dad and you're the baby. You laugh and have fun.
"Jocelyn! Time to go home!" Mrs. Jonas yells up the stairs
"Yes ma'am! Coming!"
"Mom! Can I come too?" Nick yells back
"Sure honey!"
On the way home you and Nick sing together and tell knock knock jokes. When Mrs. Jonas pulls into the driveway Nick walks you to the door and hugs you. Then you walk inside and Nick and Mrs. Jonas drive off.

The next day at school you don't see Nick in class. After shool Mrs. Jonas came and picked you up. As you climb into the car you see Nick and hug him
"I missed you! Where were you?"
"Mom took me to a place where I got to sing all day! You should go! It was fun!"
"I wish I cuda went with you... It was boring today without you!" You exclaim sadly
"Well we're going to get ice cream now so it won't be boring anymore!"
"YAY!! Chocolate ice cream!" You exclaim excitedly
"Strawberry for me!" Nick replies back
"I don't like the bumpy things in the strawberry ice cream." you point out
"Chocolate looks like poop to me" Nick says
"But it tastes yummy!"
"I think strawberry tastes better!"
As you and Nick eat your ice cream Mrs. Jonas calls Mr. Jonas to discuss the broadway try out Nick did today.
"He did great! The judges loved him! They told me we should know by Friday if he got the part or not..."
"You're already turning famous?" You asked worriedly
"I guess so... But look we're still friends! See I don't break promises!"
After ice cream Mrs. Jonas takes you home.
For the rest of the week Nick has voice lessons and callbacks to where he can't come to school or he has to leave early. You become jealous and bitter. It's mostly just from you missing your best friend... When Friday night came around Nick invited you over for a sleepover... And because you missed your best friend you accepted the invitation, but soon regretted it.
"Jocelyn! I'm gonna be famous all next week!"
"So you won't be at school?"
"No, but I'll be famous! Aren't you happy for me?"
"I'd rather you be at school" you respond quietly
"But Jocelyn... I get to sing all week!"
"I DON'T CARE! I DON'T WANT YOU TO BE FAMOUS! I WANT YOU TO PLAY WITH ME AND GO TO THE PARK WITH ME! YOU PROMISED WE WOULD STILL BE BEST FRIENDS!" You scream in Nicks face.
Tears roll down Nick's cheeks, "I thought we were..."
Out of anger you have Mrs. Jonas take you home...
You and Nick slowly grow apart until finally, Nick moves to Dallas and you 2 stop talking altogether. He grows n his career and you succeed in school with straight A's ~END OF FLASH BACK"
