Orchid

Waves crashed against the many-angled rocks at the bottom of a long dive to certain death. A young girl; with olive skin off-setting the ivory tone of a long, flowing, torn dress. She took a deep breath. The girl had tears running down her cheeks, camoflaging themselves against the rain. Her green eyed gaze flicked back to look for persuers. One boy, almost a man, eyes grey and wild as the storm, ran towards her; his arms were outstretched as if he were going to embrace her. The girl flicked her gaze again, cold wind and rain and her damp hair slashed at her eyes and cheeks. Swallowing, forcing down a fear that told her to turn and run, she let the gusting wind blow her, like a leaf on an autumn day, over the cliff's edge.
