It's Real Life
"My name is Kari Quintlon. I'm scared for my baby sister. But the thing is, no one notices it except me."
Kari is your average 15 year old girl, in her Freshman year. She's popular, athletic, beautiful, and smart. Everyone loves her, including her adorable 6 year old sister, Lily.
But, it seems as Lily has a secret...
Chapter 1
The First Encounter
Seriously, what is up with Lily? You know, my little sister. She started kindergarten a few months ago, and we had the same ache of the first day of school-except for her's it was her VERY first day.
She never went to preschool, which made it even worse. No one knows why Lily didn't go, she just was scared and shy. Afraid to face the world-like me. Although everyone sees me as, "Nice, popular, witty" Kari. I just fake it-there, I admit it. I just didn't how else to act.
Anyways, on our morning before our first day of school, it all started to happen. All the pieces of the puzzle began to fall.
"Kari," My mom called, to make sure I wasn't asleep. I wore a pair of up-to-knees jeans, and a pink tank top, with another lime green tank top under it. I tied my hair in a braid, letting some of my brown strands of hair fall to make it look interesting. I put on green, in a shape of a tulip earrings, and a peace necklace. I put on a silver bracelet, and ran downstairs.
I felt my brunette hair sway in the breeze, then I sat down, a plate full of pancakes in front of me.
"Ohmigawd, Mom! Yummy!" I exclaimed, biting into one.
She smiled. "Slow down, Sweetie."
I grinned, and looked Lily. She wasn't touching her food. "Lily?" I began. She looked at me with her big, blue, solemn eyes. "Are you okay?"
She smiled. "Oh, y-yeah."
"Just scared about the first day of school?" I asked.
She nodded.
"Okay," I mumbled. I knew something was up. But, I was too caught into my own life to care.
