I followed Jake up the familiar path to the cliffs.It was sort of a tradition every Fridaywe hiked to the cliffs and hung out,catching up.I didn't see Jake much,I lived in Seatlle during the week with my mom,and during the weekend i lived in Forks with my dad.
We sat in our usual place near the edge.I rooted around in my bag and tossed Jake some Reeses,I munched a Twix,ignoring Jake's teasing.I rolled my eyes and elbowed him in the side."It's good to see ya Val,"He grinned.
"As annoying as you are,it's good to see you too Jake."I laughed.Jake's expression was alittle odd,"Val,do you remember that time when we were little,when you said we'd be friends forever?"I nodded,"I meant what I said,we'll always be friends Jake,no matter what."
He smiled,"I'm counting on that."
I rolled my eyes and stood up,brushing off my pants,"Come on Jake,Dinner at my place tonight and you know my dad'll freak if we're late."
Jake snagged my bag and we strolled back down the path,I thought,I'f only things could stay that way.
