To Have & To Hold

I grasped his balmy sweater with my frigid hands. He slowly pulled me closer into his welcoming arms. As my eyes traveled upward, they met his, shimmering from the moonlit ocean. He studied the water that fiercely flowed below the two of us.
"It's time." He murmured reluctantly.
As he unwrapped his arms from my body, a chilling breeze swept me from the inside out. Even just having a few feet between us, my heart ached from his absence.
I got up from the cold, rocky ground and dragged my way towards him. We were only a few yards away from mortality, when fait brought our hands together. His grip was powerful, just like his existence. I was ready for the adventure. I was ready to discover things that I never could being human.
