NaNoWriMo Novel (Read intro)

SYNOPSIS:


A girl, Randi, finds a portal to another world, called The Days. There, she meets some really nice people, and even has a slight crush on one of them! Will Randi stay there, where she's pretty and is poor, or will she go back home, where she's not so pretty, but rich beyond belief?



EXCERPT:


Where am l? One minute l'm in my new car, driving along the highway, and now here l am, in some weird city, or whatever this is, I thought. looked at my hands and all the unsightly freckles and scars were gone, leaving porclian skin and perfect nails. Out of curiosity, l glanced up at my rearview mirror and what I saw was me, but not me; my frizzy auburn hair was straightened, which never works out well at all, my hidious brown glasses dissapeared, revealing emerald eyes. Wow. I didn't even know I had green eyes! All of my acne cleared up too! I had to do a double take, l wasn't sure if it was me, but it had to, l mean, look at my vision, for example. All of a sudden l could see! I stepped out of my car to examine where I was when his boy asked me how I got here. His voice was deep and seductive. I realized he was the boy I absentmindedly drew in just about everything, hoping that someday I would meet him and he would love me. He tried again. "What's your name?" "I-I'm Randi" I stuttered. I never stutter, well, only when I'm nervous. "Matt," he said. I think I'm in love.
