Farewell to the Season of Lughnasadh
Thought I would share this beautiful blessing and farewell with you all. I got it from Celtic Devotional: Daily Prayers & Blessings by Caitlin Matthews.
This is to be said at the back door/window of the house, as you are saying farewell to a season as it fades away.
Chapter 1
Farewell Blessing
Go with thanks and go with blessing,
Season of soul's nurturing.
Souls with fruit are deeply freighted.
Hearts are healed rejoicingly.
As ripened fruit and grain have traveled
You have come to Autumn's barn.
Forest Lord, whose clearings echo,
Sovereign Lady, who has poured,
Touch the hidden mystery in us,
Aid us to find Winter's hoard.
Season of soul's nurturing.
Souls with fruit are deeply freighted.
Hearts are healed rejoicingly.
As ripened fruit and grain have traveled
You have come to Autumn's barn.
Forest Lord, whose clearings echo,
Sovereign Lady, who has poured,
Touch the hidden mystery in us,
Aid us to find Winter's hoard.

Excuse me but do you believe in any of the things that Celtics practiced or are you just studying upon their Halloween traditions?
Rather both. I believe in a lot of the land spirits, and I have seen some of the Little People. I also study their beliefs, as well as we know of today. I just thought this was beautiful, and could be used for any polytheistic belief, really. Just change a few words and Names. (:
I think it's beautiful. It made me miss home because of the mention of winter.. I'm going home in six weeks though. I hope we have loads of snow, because they don't really have it here. :)
