Kelsey pov: I'm dressed as a nerd. Got the suspenders & glasses & hot pink lip stick on. I'm with my little sister Melanie. She's a skeleton bride. Hey she's only 8 years old! I'm 15. Well were walking up to a tan house. It's got Halloween lights on.
"come on Mellie!" I say. Slowly we walk up. I stop when I see get almost halfway. It's the guy I have a crush on, but don't know his name. I sigh and turn
"look NO embarrassing me, ok? Mellie? Mela-" I see her she's heading up the stairs. I see him. He's in Nike shorts & what looks like a basketball jersey...even though he's average height. He looks up at me. I see a flicker of something in his eyes before he speaks.
"So we got an evil bride & a nerd? Cool!" I smile before looking at my converse with my high socks.
"no skeleton bride!" says Melanie huffing. He nods
"oh sorry...got any jokes?" I grin we'll see how this time goes. Last time Melanie got the punch line wrong. Being nice people they laughed but...
"Tell him yours Kelseyyyy!" she says jumping up & down.
"uh...mines kinda well...what did the ghost boy say to the ghost girl?" figures I just had to choose the 1 that sounds close to romantic
"I don't know. What?" he says staring right at me.
"Er..you r bootaful." surprisingly he laughs. Smirks and holds out the candy. Thinking we're just supposed to grab some I reach my hand out. He's reaching in too though and our hands touch. I can feel my cheeks getting red. Great now I'm a tomato.
"Sorry I...um" I look away. This is the guy I've wanted to kiss since like forever.
"Its fine...honestly." he says holding out the bowl. Melanie reaches in & pulls as many as she can grab. Oh dear.
"Kelsey likes you...A LOT!" she says smiling up at him. He raises an eyebrow
"what's your name?" she asks.
"Call me Mikey. You r?" he asks
"Melanie...and that's Kelsey." she says while pointing at me. I look up
"Sorry about the candy...probably should give some back." I start to pull some but he says
"No...Kelsey it's fine. We're trying to get rid of it all." ok than...ugh I don't wanna leave mikey alone.
"Well thanks guy my sister loves!" says Melanie. Oh no, no, please she DIDN'T just say that.. But he's looking at me now.
"You have to ruin it, don't you? Why Melanie? Can't you just leave my personal life out of a conversation for once?" I shout
"But-" she starts to say. I shake my head tears rolling down my cheeks
"Find your own darn way back!" I say. And then I run. Pushing past people. Where is it? Where's the house? I see it up ahead and run inside. My parents r out. I fall into a chair & turn on the tv it's 9:40 pm. I'm gonna sit her till "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" comes on. They're having my favorite baseball player & a singer I like on the same day! I fix my face, pull on boxer shorts & a big shirt that says "Burger + Fries = happiness" DING-DONG
"Hello? Look we're almost out of candy..." I say before looking up. There stands Mikey and my little sister.
