Trever the Tarantula and the Valley of Bones
hey, guys. here's the sequel to Trever the Tarantula story. i hope you like it.
Chapter 1
A Voice in the Dark
I tell you a tale of heroes so bold, who traveled into the Ancient Valley Where No One Would Go (a.k.a. the Valley of Bones).
Unfortunately, they found it by accident.
Trever the Tarantula, Toaster the Porcupine, and Harry the Large One were walking down a long winding road.
Trever had just met Harry a few days ago, and was suspicious of his loyalties. So, he and Toaster were keeping a close watch on him. Why, they didn't know, for there was no real danger involved in their mission, but they were wary nonetheless.
Darkness fell quickly at night, and Trever decided to find a nice camping spot. He told Toaster to split up. Harry offered to do the same, but Trever refused. He told Harry that the spiders should stay together, but he secretly felt that Harry would betray them (to what, he didn't know).
Toaster left, humming a merry tune, but what he didn't know was that what he was to encounter would not be very merry. For where he was wandering was the place feared by the surrounding villagers.
After a few minutes of searching, Toaster began to feel an odd sense of foreboding. He could almost be sure that something was following him. Having spikes on his back, he thought he was well protected, but still, the porcupine could not suppress his own fear.
All that was resolved when he heard a voice. "Brave one, aren't you?"
Toaster whirled around. A peddler in a dark brown traveling cloak watched him intently. The stranger's hair and fingernails were both abnormally long, and his clothes were so frayed that large patches of skin were revealed. His nose was long and crooked, and his silver eyes were bloodshot.
Toaster cleared his throat, choked down his surprise and said, "I'm sorry?" The traveler smiled, showing several missing teeth, the remaining yellowed and chipped.
"Going to the Ancient Valley Where No One Goes. No one goes there."
"Why not?" asked Toaster.
"No one goes, for none come back. Wicked power in there, there is. If you deter from your path, you may very well not survive." The old man's words were not doing wonders for Toaster's bravery. The animal gulped.
"What's in there?" The man's smile faded.
"As I said, a wicked man with too much power, like a congressman. His name is," he straightened and inhaled deeply for effect. "Ronald." The very mention of the title struck fear into Toaster's already fragile heart, and he began to quiver uncontrollably.
"What happens when people, you know, wander into this place?" he asked, his voice cracking with horror.
The traveler chuckled.
"I'll only say this, young creature. You're very gallant to enter the Valley of the Walking Dead. A.K.A. the Valley of Bones, to the west, right over there." He pointed to a large cliff. Toaster was so scared, he screamed and ran, ironically, in the way of the man's finger in his panic. It only struck him that he was running right into the place where he did not want to go when he was dangling off the edge of the monstrous cliff ledge, screaming for Trever to provide help, though he knew the arachnid couldn't hear.
