STORY CONTEST UPDATES!!!
Alrighty, I have already gotten a very good question: "Can we enter more than one story?"
Okay, okay, here's how that will go down....
You may enter more than one story, but no more than three.
I will be using a scoring system to make a decision on the winner. SOOO if you enter one story, I read it, give you a score, boom. You're done until I look at all the scores and decide a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place winner.
BUT if you enter two or even three stories to the competition, this is how you will be scored.
I'll read your stories, and decide on how I like them. Say you have two stories entered, and I dislike one and LOVE the other. Your score will probably be somewhere around the middle. Say you enter three. If I dislike one and LOVE the other two, your score will be higher. And if I LOVE one and dislike the other two, your score will probably be lower. Get it? I hope so :)
The scoring system will go like this if you have two or three stories: I'll put a score on each story, and find the mean of those scores. The mean will be your one score. As I said, if I like more than I dislike, your mean score will be higher. If I dislike more than I like, your mean score will be lower. AND if I like one and dislike the other, you will probably end up with a middle mean number. Still don't get it? I'll do some examples for ya :) (By the way, the score range is from 0-50)
Say someone enters two stories.
Story 1: 25
Story 2: 37
37+25=62
62 divided by 2= 31
Your overall score:31
Now, say you enter three stories:
Story 1: 41
Story 2: 23
Story 3: 39
41+23+39=103
103 divided by 3=34.3 or 34
Your overall score: 34
Does it make sense now? :)
The person with the highest overall score wins 1st, second highest overall score wins 2nd, so on and so forth.
