My little sister is bipolar and suffers from chemical depression.
She has to take medication for both. and the only time she gets off from school is for an appointment.
I myself suffered from a more normal level of depression. A year's span of insomnia and random anxiety attacks. And I never asked for a day off. I just kept going.
It is best for you to just go to school.

I know a lot of people who fake depression trying to get out of something, and it's not cool. especially around someone who knows real depression.
