The Girl that Sat in her Room
This is one of my first stories, my best friend is an amazing writer so she inspired me to write out the stories I create instead of keeping them bottled in my head. Thanks Lexi! Here goes nothing!! This story is pretty much just about a girl sitting in her room daydreaming. Sorry for any bad grammer I try to reread throughly.
Chapter 1
The Room
She sat in her room, her back against her dresser. Her sister was disscussing plans to remodel the room, so she went upstairs. She was rather upset at the fact that soon she would be on her own two feet. No one would tell what to do, she would'nt have anyone to nag at. Perhaps her siblings would be better off without an older sister who nagged like a mother. She didn't like the feel of being sad so she decided to write a note to her best friend who was out of town. Her best friend had gone off to Florida, she was happy for her. It was a well earned trip. Her best friend was an amazing girl who worked and tried really hard and just lost a loved one. The girl choose to lay flat on her stomach, so as to be more comfortable to write the note, she wanted to make it really cute for her. The girl looked up and stared out the window. From the ground, all you could see were the gray clouds that covered the entire sky, winter was well on its way. Looking out the window and seeing only the clouds made her feel like her room was a small caslte in the sky. Above everything else in the sky, a castle floating on a cloud. This thought made her happy again. She liked the feeling of living a magical life. Human life bored her too often, especially after reading books like Harry Potter and Twilights, which she held so dear. She longed for a life like those books, she longed for adventure. The city life proved to be boring. There were no forests she could go run around in and get lost. She asked her mother to go to the library, but her attempts failed. Her mother stated it would be closed due to the holidays. She wanted to go get Harry Potter and Twilight books to read all night. That was another reason she escaped to her room. It seemed like she was so different compared to her family no one seemed to want to do what she did. And her mother was always tired after a long day at work, which she couldn't hold against her mother. The girl loved her mother very much and was always understanding of her. She returned to her thoughts of her castle in the sky. It would be all hers, her little piece of heaven when the realities of the world would get to be too much. She thought she would a own a threstal and use him to fly down to the ground when she wanted. Threstals were beautiful animals in her eyes. Their skin was a beautiful ebony color and they had shinny pearl-like eyes. What she loved most was the eerie atmosphere they had and how they were frightningly breathtaking. The girl tried to return to the note she was writing but couldn't. She kept her gaze on the clouds, they were hypotizing to her. Calling her to look at them and not think, which is exaclty what she did. She could lay there for hours gazing at the grey cloulds for eternity and not think, just lay there and look and look at those grey cloulds. For a reason unknown she loved the silvery-grey cloulds. Their gloomy look apealed beautifully to her. There were so misty and magical to her. Finally she decided to get up and at that moment her mother opened the bedroom door and stepped in. "Are you hot that you opened the window?", her mother questioned. "No", she replied "I opened the window to look at the clouds". "Normally people open a window to look at the clouds when it's sunny", said her mother matter-of-factly. "Not me, I like it when there's no sun", stated the girl. She really did feel this way. Unlike everybody else this girl liked the cold chilly feeling the clouds gave off. Instead of wanting to feel the warmth of the sun around her body this girl wanted to feel the ominous chill around her body that the clouds would be giving off. She wanted to hug the cold air and not a warm breeze, like everyone else. Her mother nodded and walked out of the room. The girl was left alone. However she didn't mind, she had grown very used to being alone and sometimes greeted it with a smile. Whenever she was alone she could day dream freely. She didn't have to daydream but at the same time be alert of her surroundings, just in case anyone called her. When she was alone she was free to lose herself in her daydreams and wish all kind of things and scenrios. The girl in the room loved to daydream. The girl in the room loved all things that other people could't find beautiful. The girl in the room loved eerie and ominous objects. The girl in the room loved grey, gloomy clouds. The girl in the room loved to get lost in a forest or in the clouds. The girl in the room . . . was different.
