Split Apart
This story is about stories of two feuding families that could never get along. The story is in the point of view of two people- Dana, a girl in the Gallagher family, and Harold, a boy in the Birmingham family.
It was just that one moment I blinked, everything flashed before my eyes. A truck had rammed into our minivan. The windows all cracked and shards of glass flew everywhere and badly hurt everyone. Blood was everywhere. I just could not bare seeing this. Then I thought to myself, "How can we have let this happen?"
It could have been prevented. It all starts back ten years ago when I was six. My dad was best friends with this man named Mr. Birmingham who was his work partner. Our family loved his too. He had five kids just like ours all at the same ages. The one my age was Harold, who was also the youngest in his family. We were friends since we met, and we remained friends through many tough times.
When my dad's business went down. Everything went haywire. Mr. Birmingham though made it so much worse. One day when their company was near bankruptcy, he told my father he was leaving to start his own business because he said my dad was not good with sales and marketing and how bad of a business partner he was. He was furious and the two started fighting. Mr. Birmingham left the building that day for good. It wasn't long after that my dad's company went out of business as he could not blame it on anyone else than Mr. Birmingham. The two never got along and ended communications with each other.
