One of a Kind (A Hogwarts romance) part 7

The darkness moved towards me taking it's time. Each wave of the nasty scent of it scared me even more. I was so stupid. Here I was in an unfamiliar room facing on darkness, pure darkness, the stuff evil comes from. I must be out of my mind. It finally wrapped itself around me body. It moved around my feet leaving scrapes and bruises and sending darkness through my blood. I felt the cold mist course through my veins and panicked. I screamed over and over again as it moved up my body. It misted over my arms and chest and finally it was at my neck. I tried to grab for it finding no grip I knew it was hopeless. I felt my feet lift off the ground as the evil picked me up. It played with me. It knew I couldn't escape it misted through my hair and brushed my face. Maniacal laughter coursed through my brain. I heard a voice, a voice full of cruelty and heartless. It was flat and cold but I knew it coursed with power. I gasped and screamed once more.

I was still searching for Danni. I came across the mansion where I knew she was hidden. It had once been massive and powerful they say it was the place where darkness was first discovered. The people watched it crumble to dust however. It was still used by those who still felt close to darkness. One word went through my mind Voldemort. I entered the decaying building bracing myself for anything that happened. I saw the sight of bones and disgust crossed my face. Whoever did this to Danni would pay. My ears picked up to a scream coming from the lower levels. I grabbed a rusted pipe laying on the floor and ran down some steel stairs. Obviously the building wasn't as abandoned as I had thought. The room was updated in the finest technology money could buy. It was like a modern day dungeon. Monitors were placed into the wall each one showing a different creature being tortured or lying dead or unconscious. I shivered and continued down the hall looking for my golden goddess. Finally I saw her. She was covered in a black fog and was screaming at the top of her lungs. I burst into the room carrying my pipe like a weapon. Her eyes went to mine. "Draco" she whispered. I saw pure fear in her eyes. I looked at her and smirked she screamed again and trembled with pain. "Keep your eyes on me Danni.", I said. "I'm going to get you out of here safe.". She shouted again but didn't break eye contact and I tried not to let the scream get to me. I didn't see it. I didn't see the darkness take the form of a lion and bite into her neck. But I heard the screams and the gasps of pain. Threads of darkness moved around Danni and went down her throat stopping her screams. Her eyes rolld back into her head and she went limp. The mist seemed to laugh and then it faded. It dropped Danni and she hit the floor with a thud her golden hair falling over her face. Wait it wasn't gold anymore, it was changing from gold to black. Black like the night, black like a raven, black like the mist around her. I ran towards her not trying to hide my tears. She's dead was all I could think. I let the warm salty tears roll down my face and held her in my arms. She wasn't her natural shade anymore either. She was pale and white as snow. I caressed her face like she had caressed mine yesterday. It seemed like a lifetime ago. I knew then that I loved her and felt something I had never felt before. I guess I had always liked her but I never got to tell her how much I loved her. Now it was too late. Suddenly she trembled. Her once rosy lips which were now blood red opened to release a moan. Then her eyes opened. I smiled down at her. She was alive. Her once beautiful golden cat eyes were now red. She blinked at me. Something crossed her face I couldn't tell what it was. She stood up mechanically and released herself from my arms. I stared up at her my jaw hanging open. She looked at me and spoke with a calm voice, a voice that wasn't hers, "You have tried to stop darkness, but you do not realize fool, that darkness can materialize in any way shape or form." I gasped darkness was inside Danniella. She was not mine anymore she was just another body for eternal darkness. She picked up the knife i had seen on the floor earlier and started walking towards me. "If I kill you, I won't have to deal with your interruptions." she stated. I ran for the door but she cut me off. I couldn't believe that I wouldn't leave this room alive and I couldn't believe that the girl I loved would be the one to end me. " You fool, it's about time you realized that darkness always prevails.", she said.
