Lily Loves~ A Lily Evans and James Potter Love Story
Hey! I love Lily and James and wanted to write a story of their love. (Inspired by viria13 on Deviant Art) I hope you enjoy!
Chapter 1
James Potter
I felt a cold chill on my back on my back. I slowly opened my eyes and rubbed them hard. My beautiful hazel coloured owl was hooting softly on the window sill.
"Morning Orlando!"
He hooted once more before flying out the window. I rolled out of bed and checked off the date on my calender. Only two more days until I go to Hogwarts for the first time. Today we had to go to Diagon Alley so that we could get my school supplies. I heard Mum and Dad down stairs. I got up and washed my face before comeing back in to get dressed. I stared at myself in the mirror for a bit. My auburn hair blew from the gentle breeze comeing through the open window, my green eyes glistened like emralds in the sun and my eyes ran over the few freckles on my nose and cheeks. My appearance was rather different given that I had more promanant features but I always got teased about it in muggle-school, my parents always told me it was because they were jelouse but sometimes I came home crying. I quicky changed into a pair of worn jeans, a brown jumper and a scarf and beanie. As I pulled on my boots I heard Mum calling up the stairs.
"Lily! Are you up we have to go!" She called.
"Yeh Mum!" I said, grabbing my leather side bag and running out.
Mum and Dad were in the kitchen. I scoffed down a bit of bread and hot eggs before brushing my teeth and running out the door. We arrived infront of a old shabby building named The Leaky Couldrin.
"Are you sure this is it?" Mum asked cautiously.
"Of course!"
I pushed open the creaky door and my hair blew back. The old bar was rather crowded with wizards both drunk and sober. We walked through to the small courtyard. I heard Mum and Dad breath a sigh of releif when we escaped out the door. I tapped a certain brick and the arch way began to form.
"Wow!" Dad exclaimed.
I grinned at their dumbfounded expressions. We walked onto the cobblestone streets and stared at all the bright little shops.
"Ok Mum, Dad. I need to get all these things and there is quiet alot so you can just look around." When I said this Dad's face lit up. "But, do not go into Knockturn Alley and try not to touch anything that looks like it could have a mind of it's own!"
I hugged them both and started in Flourish and Blotts. I stared down at my list.

There was a lot to get, I am glad to have all the time I need. I ran back out of Flourish and Blotts and went into the Wizard Supply shop. I only had one bag. The wizard in the shop bewitched it to be never ending. Then I went into Madame Malkin's and got my robes. When I came back out I ran into Mum and Dad at the ice-cream shop.
"Hey sweetie! This place is amazing. All the wizards are so nice, they seem so interested in us." Mum said.
"I know, it is great! I have to go, but can you take these?"
I handed them my bags of robes and equipment before running off to Ollivander's. When I came inside he gave me a toothy grin and came down off the ladder.
"Hello, who might you be?" He asked croakily.
"Lily Evans, muggle-born, first year." I said proudly.
"Wonderful well- er- yes come this way."
He directed me to the back of the shop and pulled out a rather dusty orange box.
"Ash, Pheonix feather, 12 inch." He said.
I took a hold of the wand and flicked it firmly. A near by lamp floated but then smashed to the ground.
"Well, almost but not comfortable." I said.
He smirked at me. "Smart, yes very smart. Actually I just had a boy in here rather mischeivious I might say, but he has a brain. Whether he uses it or not..." He trailed off muttering to himself.
I tired a few more wands and even though they were close neither of them were perfect.
"You are indeed tricky but-"
He was gazing around the room and stopped when his eyes rested on a vibrant red box sitting at the top of one if the shelves.
"Ah, yes!"
He reached up on his ladder and pulled it down.
"Holly, Dragin heart string, 15 inch."
He handed it to me and I flicked it firmly at a messy pile of boxes. They suddenly picked themselves up and neatened into a small stack in the corner.
"Wonderful!" He breathed. "This is a very rare type of wand. Very powerful and for those who are intelligent. Perfect for love charms."
The wand was a light wood with a elegant vine wrapping up it. I payed for it and tucked it away in my jumper before running to Flourish and Blotts. The reason I left this for last is because I was so excited. I ran my finger along the piles of books and gleamed at them. When I came out I had a stack of ooks up to my chin. They woman at the counter didn't give me a bag and I did buy more than I needed. As I walked out into the chilly air I tried to watch my steps but it was extremly difficult. I got out onto the street but as a boy tried to get into Flourich and Blotts I place my foot wrong and slammed into him. We crashed to the ground.
"Oh! I am so sorry!" I gasped as I rolled off of him and tried to stand.
My head was fuzzy and my books were scattered on the ground.
"It's fine!" The boy said standing up.
He was rather tall and had messy brown hair with hazel eyes and glasses. He was very attractive.
"I'm Lily Evans." I said putting out my hand.
He shook it and gleamed at me. "James Potter. Are you starting this year?" He asked.
"Yeh, you?"
"Yes. Well I have to go but thanks and see you later!" He said.
"Thanks for knocking you over?" I quizzed.
"Oh well, nice to meet you." He corrected.
I picked up my books and went to find Mum and Dad. They were talking to Madame Malkin. They bid her goodbye and I shoved my books into one of the bags. We went back through the arch way and into The Leaky Couldrin. I can't wait for the year to begin!
