Entry for Shine_On's Contest- Torment Leads To Wish
(: Thanksgiving~ Alexa is 12, by the way.
Chapter 1
Chapter One
Alexa and her family don't celebrate Thanksgiving. Alexa wishes she did. Her family shows no appreciation for this Holiday. They were serious people. They believe they shouldn't show any thanks, because it wasn't enough to be thankful for.
But this Thanksgiving day, changes Alexa's life.
--------------------------------------
"Mother!" said Alexa, piping up from Dinner. "Why can't we celebrate Thanksgiving for just one year?"
Her mother shot her a glare. "No."
Alexa opened her mouth to complain, but shut it before she got into trouble. "Whatever.." muttered Alexa.
She was losing her spirit. The spirit she had for so many years. She believed one day, she'd celebrate Thanksgiving, her family would appreciate her, and love her to bits. But no, she's unlucky again this year.
You could see Alexa's parents as abusing ones, but they weren't exactly ones. They were kind enough to let her have dinner, lunch, breakfast. They give her a bed, a comfortable one. They show some kindness to her, but other times- it's just mean. They're abusing parents in a way, because they beat her up sometimes- only if she misbehaved, get bad grades, or disagrees from what they agree from.
Alexa cries almost every night. But she still hopes the same thing- To celebrate Thanksgiving with her family.
It's 1 day away from Alexa, and she doesn't know what's ahead of her.

Alexa rose from her bed and groaned. Another day without proper sleep. But, she knew she had to get up early- because today is Thanksgiving. She secretly whispers things that she's thankful for in the living room rug. 6.40 the time read.
Alexa got ready. She put on a black beanie hat, and it looked good with her chocolate brown, long hair. She put on blue jeans, and a white t-shirt on.
Then she quietly crept into the living room and started praying. She smiles and whispers, "I'm thankful for my Family. I'm thankful for my house. I'm thankful for my life. I'm thankfu-"
"What do you think your doing?" fumed another voice.
Alexa turned around alarmed, and saw her mother standing there, with sleepy hair. "What are you doing?" repeated her Mom.
"I'm praying what I'm thankful for.." whimpered Alexa. She couldn't lie to her mom. She could sniff a lie a mile away.
Her mom clenched her fists and groaned. "Ryan! Come here!" Shouted her mother, angrily.
A few seconds later, her Dad walked into the room, with sleepy hair also. "What Dyamond?" he groaned. His eyes suddenly widened when he saw Alexa. "What the H''e'l are you doing, Alexa."
Dyamond (aka her mom) snorted. "She's saying what she's thankful for."
His face flashed with anger. "That's it! Young lady! We are going to kill you! You know we never do this! When have you thought of this? And how long?"
Alexa's eyes brimmed with tears. "....Several years ago.. maybe 6 or 7."
Dyamond and Ryan groaned. They left and went to the kitchen. Just as Alexa feared. They both had a knife in their hands. Alexa burst into tears- and went physcho. Her parents never pulled a knife out. She shrieked and screamed, as they both surrounded her in a corner. She cried and yelled, "Please Mommy! Daddy! Don't do this to me!" But they just snarled.
Alexa screamed and cried, as they plunged the knife into her. Her screams soon ended. "I love you.." she managed to say.
They ignored her, and went back to bed. A minute later, a person came and killed them both. God had sent him to get revenge.

"Where am I?" called Alexa, soothingly.
"Heaven," answered a voice.
"Who are you?" she questioned.
"I'm Dian." A figure soon appeared. She was a lady- maybe in her 20's. She had blonde hair, and was very skinny. Her eyes were Aqua Blue, and they looked tormented.
"I feel so empty.." Alexa whimpered. Dian came over and patted her, softly.
"It's alright," she cooed. "We're in Heaven. Nothing can hurt us. We can celebrate Thanksgiving together, like a family."
"Family.." she whispered. "I miss my real family."
Dian frowned. "Don't worry. They don't deserve you. Your too nice. Come, you can live in my house, and celebrate Thanksgiving, every year."
Alexa looked up. "I'm glad I'm in Heaven." she said, proudly.
"You deserve it." she smiled.
