Do I have semi-photographic memory?
Read on and help me out?
Chapter 1
Im not sure?
Hey! Yeah, Im not sure if I do or not. I think I've mentioned how I always seem to be getting A's, and thats because I always do good on tests and stuff.... but I didnt really think much on the subject of WHY I can remember all those things even if I just learn it one time through-out my life, and without needing to study.
So anyways I was just reading this story (Harry Potter Fanfic) and Hermione (the story version) was talking about having a semi-photographic memory! And I was just thinking how familiar it sounded, and decided to look it up.
Apperently, from what I can remember, it means something along the lines of being able to remember things easily, and how your mind just sucks in the information and processes it like a computer and whatnot...
Of course, it also said something about how some people believed you had to be born with it... but I HARDLY doubt that I, in any case, was born with a photographic memory. (For I almost failed a few classes before... But after almost failing the third grade, I just started studying harder and paying more attention in class... but now.. I never have to study... er.. so.. nevermind)
As far as I know, my mother and father didn't have it, and neither did their parents, and so on... none of my brothers or sisters have it (cough just take a look at their grades eye roll)
I mean, I'm really good at memorizing names, and it only took me around 3 or so times reading the '50 nifty united states' song lyrics in class to memorize the order in which the states went.. it also only took me a few times to memorize the alphabet backwards... but anyone could do that... I guess.
No, the only thing that shocks me is that I can remember back when I was a baby.... maybe not a baby-baby, but like, starting when I was one and up.
I can remember things I learned YEARS ago (not huge things, just those types of things the teachers feel it will only take one lesson because they're not particularly important...) perfectly. That sure helped on the CRT's Last year.
I may not have it because.... Well... I just said how I can remember a LOOOONG time back right? Yeah well, i can remember that, but then I get up to get a snack, and I can't even remember what I was watching on TV.
Or I get this great idea, and I get up to do it, then I completely forget what I was going to say/do, and I just sit back down... and I smack my head an endless amount of times trying to remember... but it seems like my brain sucked up that certain idea in some sort of black hole... and I hardly ever remember what I was going to do... =/
Its quite annoying actually.
Yeah, well.. Thats all I have to say on the matter...
Whats going on? Do I have a semi-photographic memory or what? I think it's just me trying to hard to stand out from the crowd, but... you know... I was really just wondering. =/
Alright, PEACE OFF!

(Then again, if I do have a semi-photographic memory, that explains why:
A: I only need to read a single book once to memorize practically every page (Which helped with my book reports a few years back)
B: I memorized practically every Starkid Quote the first time watching
C: I got A's
D: Etc.
Alright bye!

I'm the same way! :)
Photographic memory is when you look at a piece of paper quite quickly, then can recite the whole thing hours later, so I suppose semi-photographic would be not quite as dramatic. That sounds kinda like what you have!
Or maybe you just have a really good memory :3
Its probably just really good memory... :P Hardly doubt I have the whole semi-photographic memory thing. Well, good memory is better then no memory at all I suppose! And it really helps on tests and quizzes!
