Chapter 1
A (Not) Normal Interview With Ellen DeGeneres
It all started when I was on Ellen.
I was on Ellen because I released a music video of my latest song, happening.
I was in Middle school, and I had been singing for 6 years…..I really loved it. I had two songs on iTunes already, and I was currently working on another one, but I still couldn’t find the right lyrics. I hoped I could find them in the next couple months.
“So, Arianna,” started Ellen DeGeneres, “I would like to know more about your life. What are your favorite interests?”
“I love to read,” I said, “I really like to draw, and I love to eat food that is horrible for me.”
I got a little giggle from the audience about that.
“That’s nice,” said Ellen, not fully paying attention, until my next answer, “Do you like Twilight? Because, as you probably know, a couple weeks before this interview Breaking Dawn Part 1 came out. Have you seen it?”
“Well….,” I began, “Um…. I don’t mean to be rude, or anything, but I don’t really follow Twilight. I think it’s kind of…well…not interesting. At all. What so ever. And I probably never will see it…not to be rude.”
Ellen gave me an awkward look, like she was saying ‘are you completely crazy?’
“Yes, some people might think I’m completely crazy, for not loving it, nevertheless liking it, but I love Harry Potter, so I’ve no interest in reading Twilight. From what people say about it, it doesn’t really endure me to read it, and I’ve heard it has copied Harry Potter, which I am a bit ashamed of to the author,” I said.
There were a couple cheers from the back of the audience when I talked about Harry Potter, and a couple people said, “GO HARRY POTTER!!!!”
I laughed a little at that.
Ellen, still looking like I was completely out of my mind, said, “So you mean you don’t even know what Twilight is about?”
“Well, I know enough. I know it is about vampires. I know that vampires suck blood. I know that there are two vampires. Edward and Jacob. Jacob is an unregistered animagus. (A couple more cheers from the audience to the reference to Harry Potter) Bella is human. Edward wants to drink her blood. They both love each other. Edward is fast, strong; he sparkles, and is extremely pale. Vampires don’t have to breathe. But I’ve got one problem. I know it is an extremely fictional story, but for vampires, it is practically impossible to have children, because with their lack of blood, it isn’t possible to create a person. So I am completely confused with the whole thing of Bella and Edward having a child. How are they supposed to have children? Do regular, normal humans just randomly produce a vampire? Could someone please clear this up for me?!?! I mean I know it sounds crazy, but when you think about it, it is really not,” I said, happily listing pretty much everything I knew about vampires, and making people who love Twilight go insane.
I got a couple laughs at my comment on the children. But I really was saying what I felt. I really didn’t know how they were able to do that sort of thing.
“*smirk* Arianna, you are very logical. But sometimes you just have to get past that. I bet, if you read the Twilight books end to end, you would love it,” said Ellen.
“I’m not allowed to,” I said, “I mean, when I am allowed to, I guess I could, but I really don’t have interest in it. I still have to wait a couple years before I am allowed to read it. And as I said, I really really really don’t want to read it!!!”
Just as I finished saying my last sentence, I heard a very loud noise. Things were crashing down. I quickly leapt to my feet, and ran the opposite way of where I heard the things crashing. When I stopped running, I turned around, and I saw about eight human like people.
And that’s when I realized who they were.
I had seen pictures before, of what they looked like, and I had known they sparkled. But under the strong bright lights, I was pretty much blinded. But what I could see, I knew who they were.
I was confused, because the vampires looked exactly like their actors.
Maybe it was not real. A prank. Maybe it was just the actors dressed up. Or maybe that’s just what the actors were like. But by the features I had instantly recognized, I knew they were vampires.
And then it was like I jumped into fantasy land.
I drew my wand (that I didn’t know I had) from my Ugg® boot, and held it out, ready to cast a spell. The vampires stopped where they were, a couple yards away from me. I saw that a couple other Harry Potter lovers had their wands out as well. We were all ready to strike, whenever we needed.
I could see their muscles through their tight shirts. But that didn’t scare me. I was fully aware of how strong they were, and how dangerous they were. I was pretty strong too, but not as fast as they were.
I saw the fiery in their eyes. I really wanted to know why they were here, interrupting my Ellen® interview, and making everyone go crazy. Most of the people that were in the audience, and backstage had already fled, including Ellen, but the camera men were taping us, and the Twilight lovers were too amazed to run, or go running up to the vampires.
“Yes,” I said, in a much braver voice than I felt I had.
The vampires started walking closer to me in unison, and I yelled, “PETRIFICUS TOTALUS!”
The spell did exactly as I wanted it to. It put a body bind around Edward, the one I was pointing at. The rest of the People with wands next to me put body binds around the rest of vampires as well.
I kind of liked seeing them struggle against the wizard spells that they probably had never encountered before. They only struggled for a couple seconds, until a young girl took out her wand, and muttered a spell. When she lowered her wand, the vampires stood up, and ran toward the window. They paused, looked back at us and crashed through the window.
I laughed at this, because they fled. The little cowards, who people thought, were strong, and brave.
“Ha! You cowards! You fled! HAHA!” I yelled towards the window which they crashed through.
When I was done saying that, someone’s hand was on my shoulder. The hand was extremely cold – like ice, but colder. I shivered. I whipped my head around, stared into Edward’s eyes, and yelled, “IMPERIUS!!!”
Leave, I told Edward, through my mind.
And Edward left, but not for long.
