Love of Darkness
School life is always hard, especially for me. I'm Sarah, the girl who people dont want to know. The loner. I've always stuck to my daily routine: school, homework,sleep... nothing all that special. I'm also an orphan. My parents died in a car accident and now I live alone. I always felt so depressed. But on my first day of middle school, my whole life changed. All because of one guy.
Chapter 1
Enchanted
Zeep Zeep Zeep!
I tossed and turned in my bed, trying to untangle myself from the blankets, and smacked the clock. I smacked it so hard, it fell of the nightstand and landed on the hard wood floor. When it landed, the screen cracked and the numbers wouldnt light up. "Great. Now I have to buy a new clock." I sighed. I placed the broken clock back on the nightstand and raced to my closet. I tried to find a nice pair of jeans, but all I could see were my faded pink sweatpants. I quickly threw them on with a bright blue shirt and a pair of brown socks.
I ran into the kitchen and got a pop-tart from the cabinet. I didnt bother toasting it. I really didnt have time to anyway. I took a big bite and set it down on the counter. I then ran to the front door and slipped on my rain boots. It wasn't raining, but they were the only shoes that I had. I ran back to my pop-tart, took another bite, and threw it in the garbage. I'm usually not one to waste food, but I dont like to leave food sitting on the counter. I threw on my long fleece jacket, grabbed my empty backpack, and ran out of the door.
Today was my first day of middle school and I was more scared then ever. There were two different schools for kindergarden through sixth grade, so now everyone is in one school. Which means more people for me to deal with. I'm not much of a people person, mostly because not a lot of people actually like me. But it doesnt bother me. I'm already used to being alone. But I'm not alone all the time. I have a couple friends. One of them I dont get to see much anymore. Her name is Tyra. She was my best friend. We did everything together. My other friend is Kara. She is super smart, but she can be very emo when she wants to be. She always complains that she wants to kill herslef, so I try to be the best friend that I can be to keep her here. My life is very strange.
I finally made it to the bus stop. There were a couple of people there, and I didnt know them. This was my chance to make more friends. "Good morning." I squeaked.
"Morning." Said one of the two guys there. The other guy was silent.
"My name is Sarah." I said nervously.
"Elijah."
"Nice to meet you, Elijah." I held out my hand, hoping he would shake it, but he just slowly backed away from me. Some more people came, but I just decided to stay quiet and leave them alone. The bus finally came, ending all of the awkward silence. The bus driver was a skinny lady with short black hair and a narrow face. Everyone sat in the back of the bus except for me and the silent boy. I tried to see his face, but he had covered it with his jacket hood and a scarf. I tried not to look at him, but I was just so curious about who he was. I decided to try and talk to him. "Hi." I said. He looked at me, looked out the bus window, then looked back at me. He slowly raised his arm and wiggled his fingers at me. "I guess your not much of a talker." He shrugged his shoulders. "Can you at least tell me your name?" He sighed and removed his hood from his head and pulled his scarf down.
"My name is Tyler." He said.
"Well, Tyler, you need to learn to talk more." We both laughed. "My name's Sarah."
"HI, Sarah. Nice to meet you." He held out his hand and smiled. I grabbed his hand and shook it. I almost thought he was mocking me, but I didnt really care if he was or wasn't.
All I know is that I just made a new friend.
