Chapter 1
The Beginning
I watched the boys soccer team fly across the field kicking the ball closer and closer to the net with great determination. The purple and teal blue jerseys were a blur across the field. I sighed and remembered this was my past, no going back to it. I stood up from the gray bleachers and started to walk off the stands. As soon as my foot touched the dirt the game was won by our team The Royals who wore the rich purple jerseys. I began to walk faster towards my home which was so conveniently by my school there was many things on my mind soccer being first, but I had a feeling that someone was watching me, watching my every move. I would turn my head and look in every which way but not spot anyone. So I kept walking the half a mile to my house it took about 15 minutes to reach my rather average looking house. As I touched the doorknob that led into the entry way of my home someone whispered.
"/Don't Open It/" I turned around, no one. Was it a sincere warning? Or was it a trap. I always felt safe in my own home so I opened the door and went it quickly. The lights were on, so was the T.V everything seemed normal.
"Mom? Dad?" I asked. They didn't reply, I was worried. So I slowly walked up the creaking steps and pushed their door open. They were piled on top of one another sleeping, not piled per say but half of my mothers body was on my dad and my young sister lay on my mothers legs. It looked relatively normal. I flicked the light switch and lit the room. They all sprang up looking at me like I had gone insane.
"What?" I asked. They looked at me to the lights.
"Turn them off Lizabeth" My mother said.
"Um Okay" I flicked the lights off and they laid back down. I shrugged going to my room. It was typical of them to do that kind of thing they were the what you could call "Bats" Of the house. No literally, I was adopted into a family of vampires, so was my little sister although she found her true love already and is now beginning to morph into the mid-stage of vampirization, is what I called it. Once you find your true love, if that other is a vampire, you morph, or you can change into one by finding a Blooded Youth vampire which are hard to come by. I don't want to be a vampire because most of them look at me like I'm a snack. I sat on my bed and opened my Summer Sunset book and began to read. After a while I heard a light tapping on my window. So I stood up and opened the shades slightly. It was Marcus, one of the few vampires that I actually got along with. I opened the window for him and he slid through gracefully. Marcus was a friend a very good friend. We hung out a lot and he told me stories of the olden days. I told him a lot of things that normally I don't share with people, We were just comfortable with each other.
"Hey" He said smoothly.
"Hello" I said as the sun was setting. He sat on my bed and laid down. Stretching out his arms and tucking them behind his head.
"Hows it been?" He asked
"Eh okay, parents are resting and sisters probably still in major pain but I'm not sure"
"I bet, Lucky Lanieus though, he's waited for 60 years to find the love of his life"
"That's short in comparison to some" I said hinting to Marcus. He shrugged.
"Yes, but it's well worth the wait, I'll wait 100 more years if I have to." He smiled.
"Yeah I guess I hope you find her though" I Smiled
"Me too" He was looking at the ceiling observing the small particles that made up the ceiling. Marcus was extremely good looking he had straight long brown hair and piercing blue eyes, he looked like a male model with chiseled abs and face. He had dimples and a winning smile, any girl could fall for him. I know I did, once. but we are friends and that's all. I went over and sat beside him with my hand on his arm and my eyes focused into his. He smiled at me at closed his eyes like he was going to sleep, he took a deep breath in and shot up. I yelped.
"What?" I asked.
"Prince" He said simply.
"Prince?"
"Leader of our kind" I nodded
"Seem like a nice guy" I said sarcastically. He rolled his eyes and got to his feet looking out the window.
"He's doing a check up, to make sure no Blooded Youth Vampire is hiding away." They were a necessity to the vampires life, without one it could be a catastrophe no new vampires at a healthy pace. I walked to the window and looked out. I heard a slight knock on the door, which was probably a lot louder to the vampire ears than the human ears. Marcus flitted down the stairs to the door, he opened it. I seen a tall vampire who looked very similar to Marcus, except no happiness just pure hatred to the world.
"Brother" The prince said. Marcus slightly bowed. It was a joke obviously, the prince tried to laugh but it was a forced one he hugged him and ruffled Marcus' hair.
"Where are the Nasons?" The prince asked. I came out from around the corner and pointed to the closed bedroom door. The prince stared wide eyed at me, mouth almost dropped. He closed his mouth and nodded walking his way up to the room. He knocked uncomfortably and waited.
"What?" A grumpy voice said inside.
"It is the prince" I heard rustling and hushed whispers then as quickly as they got up the door opened with perfect hair and a smile from each of my vampire parents. My sister still looked horrible ruffled hair and saggy under eyes her eyes shifting from blue to green. The prince laughed.
"Mid transformation?" She nodded and rubbed her eyes.
"Well I'm here to find any of the youth"
"None here" My dad said.
"Alright" The prince said starting to walk down the steps, he looked back at me when the he was mid way down and winked. I scrunched my eyebrows and looked at him like "What?" He shrugged and smiled and walked out the door.
