Chapter 1
Ch. 1: The Beginning
I was walking around the school yard at night, trying to figure things out. Not only had I caused a classroom to freeze over this morning, I had also frozen the teacher into a block of ice. People are scared of me now. My boyfriend broke up with me just because he was oh so scared. I heard a bell ringing in the distance.
“Ding dong. Ding dong. Ding dong. Ding dong” the bell rang four times. I looked at my watch and saw that it was four o’clock in the morning. I groaned. My roommate was going to kill me. I started to run, across the campus grounds, towards my dorm.
“Can’t be late, can’t be late” I kept saying under my breath. I slowed when I entered through the front door of my dorm. I turned the knob slowly and walked in quietly. I heard the door shut behind me.
“You’re late” said a voice. I stopped in my tracks. I turned around and gasped. I saw that the voices owner was a man. A man whom I didn’t know or at least I think didn’t know. My head was telling me to get away from him, that he was dangerous; but my heart was telling me otherwise. Butterflies came to my stomach as the man walked towards me. I didn’t know who to believe, my head and my reasonable thinking, or my heart and its own thinking.
“Hmm, you smell delicious, my dear” the man said as he walked around me. I stiffened with fear and restrained myself from hugging him. I didn’t know why I wanted to do such a thing. He kept walking around me, silently licking his lips.
“The quiet type, you are so much better than that Isis” He said, whispering it into my ear.
“How do you know my name?” I squeaked. I couldn’t believe that he knew what I was called by.
“Oh, I know many things. Your past, your parents, who you went to school with, your ex, your old crushes, your current crush, and many other things,” the man sighed,” I much prefer talkers, much more fun to kill.” I gulped. I felt a soft breeze blow in from the open window. The curtain danced in the breeze and I saw the man clearly. He had coal black hair as black as the deepest depth of the ocean, pale skin the color of white sand, glowing emerald green eyes, and snow white teeth. His face was perfect, simply perfect. His eyes, nose, everything.
I then saw blood splattered on the edge of the curtain. My eyes traveled over to the bed and saw a limp body on it. The man saw me do this and stepped out of my way. I ran over to my roommate. The curtain flapped in the wind and the moon’s light flooded into the room. The light shone on my friend. A dagger was plunged in her heart. Blood splattered on the wall and all over my roommate’s bed. Silent tears came running from my eyes. The man grabbed my arm and yanked me to my feet. Then he pulled me out the door, also handing me a bag full of items. He then pushed me into a car and sped off into the night.
