Chapter 1
Mama's Christmas Song/ Poem
She cleaned my scrapes
And stood me on my feet
Telling me to not cry
She kissed my head
And pushed me toward
A future
She knew I could survive
My Mama told me to be strong
She taught me all the lessons
That Life tests us on
She told me to live but not regret
To forgive but not forget
To love
To trust
And remember the good things
Nothing matters when you know you're right
She'd tell me
And every time I'd give up
She'd push me onwards
Saying you've got to keep moving til the end
She could never catch a break
Work at work
Work at home
Stress at home
Stress everywhere else
But she'd smile through it all
Never letting on
The hurt inside
Never showing the cracks in her armor
But she still had the strength
To tell me all the lessons
That life tests us on
She told me to live but not regret
To forgive but not forget
To love
To trust
And remember the good things
Nothing matters when you know you're right
She'd tell me
And every time I'd give up
She'd push me onwards
Saying you've got to keep moving til the end
Pretty things and Shiny rings
They don't mean anything
When you've got your family
Never forget what your Mama tells you
About the lessons Life tests you on
She told me to live but not regret
To forgive but not forget
To love
to trust
And remember the good things
Nothing matters when you're right
She'd tell me
And every time I'd give up
She'd push me onwards
Saying you got to keep moving til the end
