She was born & raised in her small town of Etowah, Tennessee & has dreams of finally hitting the big city. So when her parents tell her shes leaving Tennessee for an upscale Boarding School in New York City she doesn’t hesitate to accept. She doesn’t want to leave her best friends Crystal, Bree, Sara Lynn, & Jessie but isnt sure how she feels about her long time on & off boyfriend Bo Spencer, the hottest guy at McMinn County High. Hey Momma have you seen my favorite scarf anywhere? I hollered in my southern twang as I raced through my room making sure I had everything packed. I was leaving for New York soon to go to my new boarding school, Kingston Academy. Its sittin on top of a pile on the Washer in the Laundry room! she hollered back to me. I thanked her & sighed as I made my way down the two flights of stairs to the main floor. I went down a long hallway off to the side of the main dining room & through the first door on the left, the laundry room. Its amazing I know this house so well, but I guess if youve lived in it your entire life you can find anything, even if your house is gigantic like mine. I live in a 3 story roughly 3,600 square foot mansion in the countryside of Etowah, Tennessee. I shook my head at the thought of why we needed such a big house as I grabbed the scarf & made my way up to my room again. But I guess if you own a major produce company & a large cattle farm you can spend it as you please. I went through my walk-in closet making sure I had everything I needed to bring with me. After I had double checked & everything was packed I checked the time, it was just after nine & my flight leaves at eleven. My best friends Crystal, Sara Lynn, Bree, & Jessie were supposed to be here in 15 minutes with Bo so we could all say our goodbyes until the holidays. I quickly checked my hair, makeup, & clothes making sure there was nothing else I needed to do to get ready so I could head straight to the airport afterwards. I smiled & quickly dashed down to answer the door, my mom already had it open & in came my favorite people in entire world my four best friends followed my currently ex-boyfriend Bo. Hey guys! I said excitedly as I rushed to greet them pulling them each into a tight hug. Bo placed a kiss on my forehead as he released me but I was used to it dating or not. I looked around & noticed everyone was crying except for Bo, even my mom. Awww! Guys! I said tears welling in my eyes & threatening to spill over. We just cant believe youre leaving! Bree said fanning her face & the others nodded in agreement. I love you guys so much! I said pulling then into a group embrace, including Bo. We love you too! my four besfriend said together as we all released from our group hug. Can I talk to you for a minute? Bo asked me already making his way towards back out the door & onto the porch. I nodded & followed him without making eye contact & heading straight onto the porch & leaning of the railing. So what happens now? he asked coming up beside me. I shrugged, I guess its time we moved on, Im leavin Bo, for New York City. How would that ever even work? I said a bit nonchalantly, trying to make the subject easier for the both of us. Bo nodded, I agree, I guess this really is goodbye Tinsley, goodbye to the way things ever used to be. We sat in silence for a few minutes, trying to figure out what to do next. Well I better get goin, Paw expects me home soon to help him on the farm. Have fun in New York, bye Tins. he said in a surprisingly casual voice, he kissed my forehead, Bye Bo. I replied as he walked off the porch got in his beat up pick up & disappeared down the road, tipping his hat off to me just before he drove away. Tinsley, its bout time to go. I heard my Momma say from behind me. I turned around, Im comin Momma. I said before making my way back into the house. Poppa carried what was left of my things down the stairs & out of the house to the car, since most of my stuff was being shipped to Kingston there wasnt much to carry. I ran over & hugged each of my best friends tightly giving them a kiss on the cheek, Tinsley, its time to go. I heard Poppa say from behind me, I nodded, Bye Momma Im gonna miss you & Poppa both, make sure to keep yourself & Poppa out of trouble! I said playfully as I kissed her on the cheek & followed Poppa out to the car. I gave my friends, Momma, & my old life a final wave & smile before disappearing down the road & welcome the start of my new life, of the new Tinsley. It was good forty-five minutes to the airport & the ride passed in a comfortable silence. Once we arrived Poppa took me as far as he could through the airport before giving me a huge kiss on the cheek & disappearing down the escalator. I eventually made my way through security & onto the plane where I settled quickly into my first class seat. Once we made it into the air I closed my eyes & let Tennessee disappear behind me.

I was awoken by the flight attendant announcing wed be landing very soon, I looked out the window & almost jumped out of my seat with glee at the sight of the New York Skyline below me. I kept my eyes glued to the window until we landed. I then rushed giddily off the plane & looked for the drive Poppa told me a week ago would be waiting for me. After several minutes of searching I spotted a man in a a drivers uniform holding a sign that read Tinsley Cadence, Kingston Academy. I ran over to him, Miss Cadence? he asked hopefully, I nodded. He took my carry on from me & lead me over to get the rest of my things. He carried my two suitcases & lead me outside to a waiting black limo. He placed my stuff in the back & opened the door for me, I squealed internally & quickly hopped inside. I watched in disbelief as New York City raced around me. I was so excited the twenty minute car ride passed easily & before I knew it I was in front of the most beautiful place Id ever seen. The sign read Kingston Academy in a wide wrought iron arch above a huge area of grass with buildings in the background surrounded by an old matching fence & worn bricks. I got out of the car & the driver brought me my suitcases & I was off though the opening & began making my way across the quad. I pulled a piece of paper out of my jacket pocket, it read Richmond Hall: Girls Dorms room 314. I stuck the paper back in my jacket & continued on my way. As I went farther & farther across the quad I noticed I was earning a lot of appreciative stare from various guys all around, I smiled sheepishly & waved. Dazed a few waved back & I giggled. Hey there. I heard a male voice say from behind me, I turned around & stood face to face with a totally gorgeous guy with black hair & chocolaty brown eyes. Hi. I said & gave him a flirty grin. Can I help you find something beautiful. he asked with a heart melting smile. Uhm yeah actually, can you help me find Richmond Hall? Im Tinsley by the way. I said maintaining my flirtatiousness. Sure follow me, Richmonds this way. Im Heath, wheres an attractive girl such as yourself from? he asked making his way to left through the quad. Im from Tennessee how bout yourself? I asked following quickly after him. Boston, born & raised. Well, heres Richmond. See you later beautiful. he said winking at me before jogging back across the quad to his friends. I turned & waved at him before making my way into an old brick building label Richmond Hall. The inside was just as worn as the outside of the building but was slightly more modern & beautiful. I looked at a sign & discovered my room was on the third floor, I sighed & hauled my suitcases up the three flights of stairs & down the hall until I came upon a door labeled 314. I sighed nervously & opened the door slowly. Inside were two girls, one had wet brown curly hair which she was towel drying in a t shirt & sweatpants, the other with bright cherry red hair was laying on a bed painting her nails a deep red. Uhm, hi. I said stepping into the room & closing the door behind me, Im Tinsley, yall must be my roommates.The one drying her hair smiled slightly Hiya, she said in an accent Id never heard before, Im Mikayla, but you can call me Mickey. This is Rosa. She said gesturing to the girl on the bed, Hey there, I take it youre new here. The girl, Rosa, said in a rough voice, I nodded, Im from Tennessee, my parents sent me to school here. I told her, she smirked, I thought so, so country girl you smoke? I shook my head, You drink? I nodded, You a snitch? I frown & shook my head, You like to party? I smiled slightly & nodded, she smiled, Good. Well cowgirl, I think well get along just fine. I smiled & set my suitcases infront of an empty bed. I had a feeling Rosa was right, I had the feeling I was really gonna like it here, & I was absolutely right.
