Chapter 1
Love is gone
Flash back in 1935
"Em!" Emily screamed. "Give me my hat!"
"What if I don't want to?" Emmett asked playfully, both cheeks flashing boyish dimples.
"Don't make me come over there!" Emily teased.
"God forbid!" Emmett said, looking up at the sky. "Looks at rain. Better get you home." Emmett commented. Emily scrambled over to Emmett and rested her head on his chest.
"Does it have to end?" She said, her jade green eyes tearing up. Emmett looked at her long blonde wavy blonde hair with bangs that always fell in her face.
"I'm afraid so. Your father will kill me if you're late again." Emily sighed.
"Okay." She said, and Emmett loosely grabbed her hand. They walked like that for ten or twenty minutes, but suddenly came to a stop. They had come to her house. It was a light creamy beige, with faded green shutters. Emmett stopped just outside her door. Emily tried to let go, but Emmett held on to her pale hand and brought it to his chest.
"It's only a few days." Emmett said, and Emily turned her head to the east. Emmett moved and delicately put his mammoth hand under her chin.
"I know, I don't want to leave you either." Emmett and his brothers were going hunting for four days; much too long in Emily's book. Emmett pressed his lips to hers and wrapped his arms around her.
"Goodbye, Em." Emily said with a sigh.
Newspaper article from Glatinburg Chronicles
Emmett McCarty died yesterday evening in the woods of our town. "He was mauled by a bear" Eye Witnesses comment. His body soon disappeared after the murder. The bear has fled, and any evidence but a dark shoe found near the scene. "He was just a boy!" Mother McCarty exclaims. Every friend or family will be grieving, so be considerate folks. Rest in peace, Emmett.
"Emmy...." Emily's mother said shakily.
"Yes mummy?" Emmy's eyebrows knit together. Her mum pushed the daily newspaper towards Emmy. Emmy
grabbed it, her eyes reading every word of the article that was titled:
Hunters now being hunted?
"NO!" Emmy sobbed into her hands. She stayed like that for many days. Crying out his name.
Present Day 2011/2012
"And while you are out, catch some food." Maurice called out. Emmy grunted, and headed to the Seattle Night Club. The blood there always tasted drunk, but was very easy to control. She finally spotted someone, a middle aged man with clumsy movements and a red face. Definitely drunk.
"Hey there, pretty lady," The man slurred. Ugh, she thought, perverted too. He stumbles towards her, and instincts took over. Wait! She thought, not yet. She sometimes liked to 'play' with her food. She wasn't cruel, just ignorant of another way. "Hee hee!" She giggled. Then she twirled a piece of hair around her delicate finger. The man seemed surprised, but he wasn't going to turn her down.
"Let's go for a walk." She said bubbly. He nodded and set his arm around her. She walked a way with him until they came to a secluded alley.
"Wait! I want to do something." She leaned in towards him, and...... sank her fangs into his neck. She sucked him dry, and dropped his body to the ground.
It wasn't always like this, always so bloody....
