Dropping Beauty
Chapter 1
Unwanted
The ball was the same as every one before it. The ladys threatening the servents in a hushed tones so not to be heard. The queen beautiful as usual, but as old as a stone nonetheless. Of course, I just stand to the side.
Unlike most noblewomen I never bartered for beauty. I in truth am pretty, but with the few blemishs I have, I am also unwanted.
I squeeze through to the balcony. No one will notice if I borrow a horse. I'll borrow that one eatting in the meadow.
She is soft. She nuzzles her nose against my hand. I throw my leg around her. I can see the trail on the left. Someone must have used it already, because the door is still swinging open.
