How Could I forget? - A Vampire Diaries (Damon Salvatore) Story

It's dark. That's the first thing that registers in your mind when you sit up. You look around and all you see is darkness and the outlines of trees. You feel a dirt road underneath you. You try to remember how you got here, but your thoughts come up short. You can't remember anything at the moment. Not even your name. Panic starts to swell up in you as it registers that you can't remember who you are or anything about your life. That just doesn't happen. Everyone has a past. No one just appears out of no where and starts living. What was going on?

You stand up and dust the dirt off your jeans. Your eyes have adjusted and you can see a long strip of road with nothing but woods on either side. Your hearts starts to pick up the pace as fear settles in. You don't know what to do. You reach into your pockets to see if there's a cell phone or anything. All you find is a folded up piece of paper. You hold the paper close to your face try your best to make out the words. After a minute you can finally figure it out.

"I've compelled you left you about five miles outside of the town Mystic Falls. Walk the direction the arrow points and head there. By the time you reach Mystic Falls the sun should be rising. Go to the address at the bottom of the paper and ask for the Salvatore brothers. You can show them this note. They will be just as confused as you. All will be revealed in my own time."

You flip the note over but that's all it says. Your confusion and fear has reached it's peak. You remember the note saying to follow the arrow. In the middle of the road, a few feet from where you woke up, there's an arrow drawn with rocks. You inhale a shakey breath and start walking straight ahead. It's the only option you have.
