Chapter 1

Tears are not enough emotion to show how much i love you

my wonderful, beautiful horse. Starlight. It was a foggy morning. the sun was rising. Me and Starlight went for a little ride. we rode down a trail, and it started to snow. No worries i thought.. just a little. Well, it started to get worse, so i turned back around and cantered home. After giving Starlight some grain, we closed her barn stall and went to sleep.

Early the next morning, I went to let her out. The sky was blue and pretty. When i reached the barn, her stall was opened. Someone must have stolen her! I freaked out and ran back to tell my mom. There, i saw these two men, driving away really fast with a trailer behind them. They had stolen her! I rushed toward the door threw it open, and screamed at my mother to hurry. She must've seen them too, because she was out the door in a split second. After we jumped in, we followed them until we came to this huge place with many horses. The guys locked the fence behind them, so we couldn't get in. I jumped out, hoping to climb over the fence, but my mom grabbed my arm and told me it was dangerous. There was no telling what those men would do to her. so, we drove back. For a day or two, i cried. I felt like a piece of me had gone. Starlight was my first horse. She was everything to me. I quickly developed a plan to get her back.

I couldn't drive, so i walked. Who cares if it took me all night? I HAD to find her and bring her back. So, i walked, and walked, and walked, until I reached the house. They were obviously asleep. I crept into the barn, brushed her really quickly, saddled her up, and off we went. There was nothing stopping us now. and no, i didn't steal the saddle, it was my saddle that i brought. anyway, so we were about half way, when the guys found out. They angrily chased after us. I jumped over the fence in an attempt to escape. My horse soared over the fence, and i felt like i was flying, back in the saddle. She never let me down, and she definitely didn't. We cantered while they ran after us. Luckily, i knew the right way, and soon we were home. My dad had a gun in his hand, and when he saw the guys coming, he warned them to stay away. They surrendered and apologized. so, it was all worked out, and by that time, we were all tired, so we went to bed.

A few years had passed. Life had been good. One day, I was trotting across a field, when i met this other girl with her horse. She was very mean, and snotty, so i decided to ignore her. Turns out her daddy was one of the men who stole my horse earlier! He wanted her to have another horse to beat up. She wasn't very good with horses, one mistake, and she would whip them. I felt bad for them, and i tried to help, but there was really nothing I could do. Anyway, she noticed the horse immediately, and cantered away, obviously angry.

The day Starlight passed away, is a day i will never forget. She was 30, old aged, and lying down. I tried to pet her, and she closed her eyes. Thinking she was sleeping, i let her be for a while. A day had passed, and still no sign of ,movement. My mom called the vet, and when he came, he pronounced her dead. I cried. for hours. we had so many adventures, so much excitement! but.. i will never forget her.
