-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I couldn't believe my eyes! This wasn"t happening! I, Alani Goodwin. has been accepted into the most prestige high school in ALL of America! My hands were shaking, the words on the acceptance letter began to blur. There was just one thing to do... "AAAHHH!!!" I screamed loudly. "Makuahine! Makuakane! (mom and dad in hawaiian) come quick!" I called after my parents, KiLani Goodwin and Nihoki Goodwin. "What is it ku`uipo(sweetheart)?" My mother asked, rushing to my side. "Yes, what is it?" My father cosigned. I just stood there, my mouth opened widely, but no words came out. I looked like surprised blow up doll. "I-I-I-, I've. been. accepted.! Mom! Dad! I've been accepted into BelleView!" I stammered, a huge smile spread across my face as I announced the big news to my parents. They hugged me tightly, then we all danced in the middle of my room. After we all calmed down, my father began to speak. "Alani, you know what that means! We have to move! Oh, think of it sweetie! The fresh, new beginnings for us! And actually living in the U.S.! This is gonna be a wonderful experience for all of us! Now, all we have to do is find the perfect, new home, and a new job!" My father said excitedly. I never seen him so happy to be starting over again! "This is gonna be fabulous mom!" I said to my mom. She hugged me and said "I know sweetie, too bad your friends are gone. You used to be so popular! Well, at least you get to start fresh and make new friends sweetheart." My mom said, kissing me on my forehead as she walked away into the living room. I started to feel abit sid, my mom was right! I was very popular at my former school. I shyed away from remembering why I wasn't popular anymore. I just sat on the edge of my bed and looked out of my window. I lived in Honolulu, the state capital of Hawaii. It was very beautiful outside! The sunset was a hue of orange, purple, pink, yellow, and a sprinkle of blue. It complemented the green of the palm trees, swaying in the wind. It was very relaxing. I don"t know how it was in New York, but I hoped it was just as peaceful and comfortable just as my hometown is.

Two Months Later (August 28th, 2010. 6:41 A.M. Pacific Time)

"Wake up sweetie! Today is the big day! We're moving!" My mother said, nudging me out of bed. I fixed my sleeping mask and rolled over. "Five more minutes please? I'm very tired!" I said groggily. My mother was frustrated aswell. "No! Get up now! The plane leaves in an hour, and you know how you are when it comes to getting dress! Now, move it missy!" My mom commanded. She did have a point though. I got up from our hotel room bed, we had moved and packed our stuff a few weeks ago since my parents couldn't wait to move to America. I walked into the hotel bathroom and took a quick, warm shower. Afterwards I brushed my teeth, washed my face, applied abit of makeup to cover the bag under my eyes, threw on my favorite outfit: A flower print mini dress, a pink, long-sleeved cardigan matched with a pink waist belt (since it was going to be chilly on the plane), a pair of pink sandal wedges and sliver bangles, earrings, and my pink sapphire birthstone necklace. (Hence my middle name) I looked girly and exotic. I wanted to make a good impression for whoever I was going to encounter on my journey to America. I walked out of the bathroom and went to get my suitcase. My parents were already there with my suitcase. "Now, can you please get into the elevator and into the car so we can finally move?" My father said anxiously. "Yes, father. Let's blow this ice cone stand!" I said excitedly.
