The Good Kind of Love
This is a X-men First Class love story! Inspired By Born_This_Way's (a.k.a EvilGummybear) X-men first class story.
Harmony Evans knew she wasn't normal. With her Jet black hair and glowing green eyes she knew she was different. Even if her family at home was okay with her she still felt left out. When two people come to tell her about a school for people like her she finally feels accepted. Even if she starts feeling a little to comfortable around Dr.Charles Xavier... ;)
My name is Harmony Evans. As soon as my mother gave birth to me she sent me straight to an orphanage. Why? Because I decided to shift my appearance once the doctor was showing me to my mother. I could hear what happened now :
"It's a girl!" the doctor shouted. Then I shifted. "I think?"
Then my birth mother screams in terror blah,blah. Then I'm in an orphanage. The family that adopted me wanted a child that was "original". I don't think being a freak counts as original, but to them it did. Anyway, they adopted no matter what the orphanage lady told them. I liked them because of that. They weren't even scared when I transformed in front of them. They loved me and my ability to do feline transformations.

I think you should try getting away from the movie line. You're trying too hard to make it fit exactly without having the dialouge and the descriptions in the movie (which is completely understandable!). It's a little off, with short sentences, brief comments, and glossing over things that normally would be included in greater detail. If you want to stick to the movie more, you should probably find a way to get a hold of the dialouge and fill the scenes out more, otherwise you should create
your own plotline.
Most likely, you'll have to create your own, since I doubt you can find the dialouges and scenes until the DVD is available. Don't worry about discrepancies between the movie and your story, their both fine as separate works. You could possibly keep the bigger events, such as battles if you wish, like at the end of the movie, or just briefly make a 'cameo' appearance of a movie scene, while making the rest your own. :}
