Chapter 1
Leaving For Camp
Dakotah picked up her small black suitcase for the overnight camp she was going to. Dakotah was a sixteen year old girl. She had pale skin and beautiful black hair. Her parents had signed her up for the camp and had told her to leave at twelve.
It was twelve thirty.
What took her so long was looking for her black boots and dress. Her mom had told her she might see some cute guys there, so Dakotah wanted to look her best. Dakotah pushed her hair over her shoulder and walked across the kitchen's wood floor to the door that opened into the garage. Her parents had said bye to her before they started napping. Dakotah strode over to her black convertible, unlocked the doors, and slid in. Dakotah's parents hadn't told her much about the camp. All she knew was that it was supposedly VERY nice. She slipped the keys into the ignition and backed the car out of the garage. Then she got onto the main road.
It was a long drive, about two hours, to the camp. Much of what Dakotah saw on the way was cornfields and cattle.
Why would anyone want to have a camp out here? She wondered.
Suddenly she saw the sign for her camp. It read: Woodsward. There were enormous gates that were open too.
Dakotah made a sharp turn to get onto the gravely road that went in between the gate. Gripping the wheel tightly she drove over the bumpy road and drove to where she saw a line of cars.
Unbuckling her seatbelt, she stepped out of the car, and she heard an overly-cheery voice call her name.
"Dakotah Wolfe! Is that you?" the voice was coming from behind her. She could tell it was a female. Slowly turning around, she looked the woman dead in the eye.
"Yes?" she responded sweetly.
"Each of the campers have their own cabin! Where nobody else comes in sweetheart! Isn't that great? I'll show you to yours." She cooed. "Oh, and I'm Shelly, by the way!"
"Okay Shelly, just let me get my suitcase out of the car-"
She cut Dakotah off. "No need deary. I can do that for you."
As Shelly got Dakotah's suitcase for she looked around to see if there were other campers in sight. There weren't.
"Come on then, Dakotah. Let me show you your cabin," Shelly said after she had gotten Dakotah's suitcase.
Shelly had shown Dakotah to her room and fixed some soup for her and then left. Odd. Dakotah was just putting on her pajamas when she heard a voice, she guessed it was from a loudspeaker put somewhere in the camp.
"The orphange's gates are now closing," it said.
Dakotah dropped the slipper she was holding. "What?"
Maybe there was an orphanage near by or maybe her parents had sent her to one by accident. But if they did send her to an orphanage by accident, why would they know her name? And why would an orphanage be so luxourious. Dakotah decided that there was just an orphanage nearby. Suddenly she heard her window open and her curtains ruffle. Shocked she turned to face towards the window. Dakotah backed towards the bed, very slowly. A teen boy jumped down from the window.
He waved. "Hello, Dakotah."
