Chapter 1

The Train

I said good-bye to my mother, and went through the barrier to the Hogwarts Express with ease. As I got on the train, I searched for an empty compartment, and finally found one in the back. I sat down and turned on my ipod. After about 20 minutes of waiting, the train finally took off. I was starting to doze of after about 45 minutes, and then realized I was hungry, so I left to go find the trolley. When I got all the food I wanted, I passed by a compartment with 2 boys inside it, and then 3 more standing in the doorway.

As I passed, I heard one of the boys standing in the doorway (the blonde one) say "You'll soon find out some wizarding families are better then others, Potter. You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort, I can help you there." I immediately recognized him as Draco Malfoy. Practically EVERY witch or wizard knew who the Malfoy's were. The boy who he referred to as "Potter" (Harry Potter?) then replied coldly with "I think I can tell who the wrong sort are for myself, thanks." I looked over to see what the other boy sitting in the compartment looked like. I automatically knew he HAD to be a Weasley.

I scoffed. "OBVIOUSLY not..." I laughed and walked away. As I sat back down in my compartment, I realized Draco must have followed me, because he sat down across from me. He looked at me questioningly. "What?" I said rudely. He just looked at me for another moment before he finally said, "You're not a Weasley?" I laughed sarcastically. "Me? Please. That's insulting." This just seemed to confuse him more. God, he must be REALLY stupid. "Well you have the same hair...?" It was more of a question then a statement. "Yeah, but do these LOOK like hand-me-down robes? I don't think so. Now did you want something? Or are you just gonna keep sitting there, acting like an idiot?" I rolled my eyes and opened my chocolate frog. This seemed to both anger him, and yet somehow impress him at the same time.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to be so rude. I'm Draco, Draco Malfoy." He smirked and held out his hand. He looked kinda cute when he smirked... Wait, what? No, he didn't! Ok, just focus... "Yeah, I know who you are. I'm Alaia Grey." I then took his hand. He nodded. "You know, I think I've heard of you before." He said thoughtfully. "OMG! The FAMOUS Draco Malfoy has heard of me before!?! OMG! This is like, the BEST day of my life! I'm SOOO honored!" I said sarcastically with a preppy sort of voice. I then rolled my eyes and continued eating my chocolate frog.

Then he got really angry. "Well if you know who I am, you should OBVIOUSLY know what kind of power I have! So I suggest you STOP mocking me RIGHT now!" I sighed and sarcastically said, "Ooooh, I'm so scared." Then continued with, "You're nothing but a rich, stuck-up, snob who doesn't think of anyone but himself, and you think I would be intimidated by you? Please." Hearing that, Draco scoffed and left, defeated. I laughed triumphantly, put my ear-buds back in, and fell asleep.
